Fife Gone

If you feel the need to talk about it on this board it will turn into nothing but a political discussion with people going after each other. But by all means go for it.
It was given as the reason he and IU parted ways. It’s unavoidable in this context. If you want to bury your head in the sand, by all means, go for it.
I’ll continue to wait for you explaining to me why the players have no comment. Maybe they’re left leaning and full of political drool too. And maybe, you’re on the wrong side of this. Just as Fife is. That thinking and POV would BURY the program. Permanently. You’re more than welcome to dredge up some old footage of Adolph Rupp and his boys and have a good ol’ time.

So you cried about the players on the floor and now you’ll cry as they leave? Dude…
The results should have been better this year. If properly used, this team was top 5 in the B1G and easily a tourney team. The good players are already leaving on their own (TJD and Race). The guys that are left outside of XJ, are weak. Need to completely flip the roster.

So…please outline for us exactly how they were not “properly used” this season. Would it have increased their three point %? I’m genuinely curious.

so we should have been top 5/ in tourney easy but only had two good players? Which is it?

answer: it’s really neither. It’s you, you even suck at complaining.

We had two really good players and a nice supporting cast. Playing Kopp and Stewart together all year was dumb. They are solid players in other lineups though. The team has to be dismantled though, because we will be left with only role players. With TJD and Race leaving, there are no Really good players left.

You will change your tune soon enough.

Who should we have been playing instead of Kopp/Stewart? Both Phin and Galloway were out completely or well below 100% for over half the season each. Bates was really struggling on defense and not adding much on offense and Geronimo struggled to played the 3 spot. IU could MAYBE have tweaked some things to get a slight improvement on offense, but at substantial reduction on the defensive end.

i would agree that ideally they shouldn’t have been playing together much, but given the circumstances it was likely the best IU could do

Galloway should have been starting over Kopp, OR Bates should have started over Stewart. We were completely healthy to start the year and Stewart and Kopp were the starters, so saying Galloway and RP were hurt is invalid.

My god. It isn’t hard to look up FG%. Literally every player outside of RP improved their overall FG%.

If you are going to make assertions, please at least have a semblance of what you are talking about.
Team 3 pt. shooting percentage was 13th? in the B1G. What improvement was there in terms of shooting that impacted games positively. Look at the playin and tornament games - 15% against Wyoming, 20% against St. Mary's. Season was 33%, that ranked 210 in college basketball. So what if a few players improved marginally, IU had an extremely poor 3 pt. sooting percentage. IU FT percentage was 70%, that ranked 235 in college basketball. If YOU are going to make assertions get your facts right or are you defending a coaching staff and players that shot like crap from the 3 pt. line and the FT line?

How the year started shouldn’t really matter. Perhaps based on practices Kopp and Stewart seemed like the best options to start at the beginning of the year. A coach should then make adjustments to the lineups based on performances. Injuries then prevented any such adjustments which happened pretty early, IU was out both Phin and Galloway in game 4

Phin while not starting was the first guy off the bench the first 3 games, missed the next 3, and wasn’t 100% until maybe the ND game.

Galloway was limited before the season and then was injured in the 3rd game.

and Bates never showed anything at any point in the year that warranted him being a starter.

Look. This is exactly what YOU said “Wittman was a great shooter, maybe he could teach shooting. It's not like any of the coaches, Woodson included, improved anyones...”

You made the assertion that this coaching staff didn’t improve the teams shooting. I looked it up. Literally EVERY ****ING PLAYER that played the year before improved their FG% outside of RP. So if you want to adjust your original statement that nobody improved their shooting, feel free. I’m just calling bullshit and you didn’t like that.

20. DF told a recruit’s family - AT THE MALIBU GRILL - that he didn’t believe in NIL and that the scholarship was sufficient.
A quick update. Inside sources (my buddy who is the line cook) said Fife was also wearing a maga hat, Lynyrd Skynyrd T-shirt, cut off jean shorts and kept yelling free bird. To make matters worse he ordered his steak well done and put ketchup on it.

IU was not a even a mediocre shooting team, you're quibling over meningless stuff. So what improvements in shooting did the coaching staff accomplish that impacted anything? The results are on the floor. "Improvement" of a couple of percentage points here or there is meaningless. Improvement to me means a meaningful improvement that impacts the team as an effective shooting team - that didn't happen.

So your argument is complete crap. There was no MEANINGFUL improvement in shooting - fix it for you moron?

Nothing like moving the goalposts!

Wrong. Galloway did earn a starting spot before he got hurt the first time. He came back and got hurt again. He wasn’t in starter shape after both those injuries.

He started over Stewart because Stewart was suspended for the 2nd time.

being fired for personal politics is different than being fired for constantly starting arguments about politics that aren’t related to the work/job
You mean like someone scheduling a meeting under their own name and then wanting to go their pro-noun for the day on said event
Lol. Am I ? He has a personality. For sure!
Let's roll then, I'm just as f'n nuts and need reasons to procrastinate on work. Regardless of whether he's responsible for his situation, I'm a fan, invite him to discuss on one of your podcast things

That's bad, but what is worse is even taking a recruit to the Malibu Grill, that place has seriously gone down hill in the last decade. Every time it was worse till I said not again. Go to Uptown

Said someones cliff note version of why he got fired. He was openly critical of NIL, talked politics too much, not good at recruiting, but in much more detail. I gave you cliff notes of a cliff notes tweet

so where do we get the book?

and why is everyone who is insinuating they know things, then refusing to give any details at all?

21. He complained about people watching CNN.
Interesting. Dakich mentioned coaching staff having CNN on and Fife being smart enough to keep his mouth shut. Maybe Dan has talked to Fife, despite claiming he hasn't.
