It will soon be rebranded as Meta.

The reasons stated in the article make sense and I suppose 'Facebook' doesn't totally encapsulate everything they do - I guess we'll see how it goes. My guess is that it'll take a while to catch on. 'Facebook' is just so ubiquitous - I feel like old people are going to keep calling it that.

Facebook, the social media site and app, is not changing its name to "Meta." Facebook, the social media site, will continue to operate under the Facebook name - much like Google the search engine is still known by that name rather than Alphabet.
