Last night was a great effort on the road. Bad matchup against Maryland's two bigs without Davis at full strength. But still, getting outrebounded that bad and keeping it that close shows you this team is moving in the right direction. Romeo showed some star power which every good team needs. Just relax we're getting better, we'll be fine.

The biggest letdowns are as follows:

*We finally got out of the gates fast, then crapped the bed
*Fitzner is officially not good. We probably had unrealistic expectations, especially after his one good game. He is a 6’10” kid who plays bb. Not a bb player who is 6’10”
*Green, it seems, just isn’t going to change. He plays flashy, makes some great passes, some good shots, and you get all excited that he is goons be money. Then you find out the truth. Fools gold.
*Injuries - I have never seen a team dealing with so many injuries that I can recall. As soon as we get somebody back, another goes down. We have a serious depth issue.
*Deron Davis - This could be under injuries, but I was hopeful by the second half of the season he would be 90%. He isn’t 60% right now. Painful to watch. I feel for the kid.
*Hunter - This could also go under injuries, but had some high hopes for this kid and now nobody can say if he will ever play a minute for IU due to some kind of health issue(s)
*Need another consistent scorer. Somebody who can really step up on a consistent basis. Thought that might be Green, but nope. Maybe Al D? Maybe, but he doesn’t do too well inside.
*3pt shooting. This team is turrible from 3pt line. So inconsistent with some really poor shot selection, and then missing far too many wide open shots. I wish RL could hit 3’s... Could you imagine how good he would be shooting even 37+%? DA could help here, but that won’t be until next year at the earliest.
*Rebounding - Man we seem to get consistently dominated on the boards. We really lack size at the 3-4-5. Not height, but size and aggressiveness. Morgan is a beast, and then you have the rest. Morgan is a perfect example of rebounding via positioning and effort.

At least Morgan has continued to improve under CAM. He is a machine! RL is a tremendous scorer/slasher and his D seems to be getting much better. Al D has played pretty well, and RP is a possible stud. Our turnovers have gotten better. We are young, but concerned we will be worse next year. With Morgan and RL leaving, that will be tough to replace without many others stepping up. If RL stays, we could certainly be better. I think CAM is getting some good players and we will be a much better team.

Anyway, last night was very disappointing, and it seems we can’t get over that hump just yet. Sky isn’t falling and think CAM is the right man. Lot is season left, but yesterday was a golden opportunity lost...

Everyone needs to get healthy. Race and Jerome would have been invaluable last night.

Good luck selling that sentiment.
Last night after the game many posters were ready to fire Archie & get rid of most of the players.
Craziest fanbase in the nation. Bar none.

It could be seen as either “crazy” or very “astute.”

Some don’t ignore the warning signs of an impending heart attack. Some do. Pick your poison.

I'm so tired of IU having less talent than other teams. Yes - Morgan, Romeo and Phinisee are seriously talented but it's a huge drop after that. Other teams go 6-8 deep with guys who can score and rebound and play D. We have Fitzner and McBob getting big minutes. See the difference?!

Archie has been exposed as a mediocre coach who needs a sh$&@ TON of talent to win. He does teach defense, so that is a positive.

That's ridiculous. He hasn't been exposed. He's done fine all things considered. Last night was just really disappointing given that we had that game in bag and pissed it away. That said, we absolutely have to win out at home and beat Illinois, Rutgers, NW, on the road.

The road in the Big Ten is a damn tough place. I'll bet IU beats Michigan when they come calling.

Neutral court? Michigan wins. Ann Arbor? Michigan wins. Assembly Hall? IU wins.

Michigan is the best team in the conference and they'll lose their share in the conference. So everyone should just take a deep breath about a loss at Maryland.

Fitzner was a HUGE mistake, Romeo is gone, and Morgan will be too, Davis will maybe never be the same/achieve potential … I would never count on him ever again competing with the better bigs out there. Need to develop what we do have … Moore, Hunter and Thompson (if and when they are healthy), and especially DA … we need shooting and he is a shooter, should be starting regardless of any defensive deficiencies

Don't feed the assclown

Everything is right on track folks to be the 6-8 place finish I originally predicted, even before guys got hurt.

I’m not surprised, disappointed or otherwise. It is exactly what I thought.
The problem is with sunshine-pumping addicts like Twenty02 who was raised on the Mike Davis era, thinking he sees good basketball, putting on his crimson blinders and trying to spin things as they are not.

Don’t take issue with me. Criticize the coaching, the softness of the Archie era and the offense that resembles a carbon copy of that goofy thing that the tan man installed.

Twenty02 - you can admit at the end of this month that you were trying to sell the board a bunch of snake oil about the team, you are a millennial who is part of the excuse-generation and you have no clue what good basketball looks like.

Very true, me as well. We just don't have enough players right now.

And just HOW has he been exposed? Please be specific.

The weave offense, the lack of toughness, not taking time outs when things go south, the comatose demeanor on the sideline (which everyone thinks is ultra cool and stoic), the lack of change and improvement in poor habits of Crean recruits, playing a guy in crucial moments that has absolutely no business playing basketball at this level. This should not be some 5-year rebuild, which is exactly how everyone here acts.

Surprised how some on here are ready to give up so easily. And ripping Archie makes no sense at all. He is juggling a roster that is a shell of what it was expected to be prior to the season. Fact is, IU has very real limitations that won't be going away anytime soon barring a medical miracle or two.

Remember, the size and depth that's been missing for so long was supposed to be improved, if not a strength this season. Instead you get nothing from Hunter and Thompson, little from Forrester and Moore, while DD drags his leg around the court, McRoberts nurses his back, and Fitz doing virtually nothing.

Those criticizing Archie should offer up a rotation solution that's better. In the meantime, let's hope RP can get back on track quickly, and others start to elevate their game. Most important - figure out a way to win the next one.

Archie has been exposed as a mediocre coach who needs a sh$&@ TON of talent to win. He does teach defense, so that is a positive.
Or, he has had one recruiting class. Rob, Romeo, and Morgan are legit players that can consistently contribute today. Honestly, everybody else just isn't a legit, consistent player right now. IU doesn't have a top to bottom roster yet. This team needs a healthy De'Ron Davis and Hunter to be all it can be, and it doesn't have it.

I know that the trend is "positionless basketball" where everybody can shoot a 3, but give me a player in the Landon Turner mold like a Daniel Gafford or Fernando any day of the week. Size still matters, and Gafford and Fernando were the difference in the losses. IU's bigs are Davis, Fitzner, and Clifton, and it isn't good enough.

Are you always this big of an idiot? Or do you proactively work at it?
You worried about the competition? No one gets it wrong or is a bigger apologist than you. Saying two players who haven’t played yet would’ve made a big difference last night underscores your idiocy. Leave the board to people who know what they’re talking about.

If everyone was healthy this could be a different season and being 12-4 with all the injuries is very good. Also I don't know why or how you every enjoy anything when some are so negative on everything and will never say a positive thing.

So you predicted that a HEALTHY team would finish in the 6-8 range but now you're saying that this injury depleted team finishing there is a sign that they're terrible and Miller can't coach? And this after only 1/4 of the conference games played.

Romeo will soon score 35 . . . He has refrained from taking over games, especially non-Big 10 games.

Now that the Big 10 season has started, he is much more aggressive in scoring because he knows this is how he can help the team the most and it is what the team needs.

You've been exposed as a weak minded fool with chronic vaginitis that knows very little about basketball. You make dumb predictions and even dumber assessments which can only come from someone who constantly views the world through shit colored ignorance stained glasses.

Lol. Keep up the smoke and mirrors.
I don’t take seriously anybody like yourself who idolizes a deity called “Set.”

Go back to your candle burning and Ouija board and leave the analysis to coherent adults on this planet.
