I am feeling good about this coming season. Why? Well CKW is......different. He has known about the injuries and attrition losses for a long time and has still made some of the strongest statements about the team since being at IU. Coach has never been a guy to over-state his hand.....I know some feel differently about that but it's my opinion.
I don't like losing depth. We might not have lost starters but the last 5 years has taught me that you are NOT as good as your starters ..... You are as good as the collective. We rotate waaaaay more than I ever thought and it makes a difference I think when you lose that depth to do it.
The loss of our slot receiver ...... I'm not as concerned about. You can't make it happen with just a slot guy. We gotta hav the primary WR that is big but most of all I'll take a guy who can catch the ball and covert a 1st down. I just didn't see that with our Zenior slot guy last year ....but then again, he didn't have Suds throwing to him. I bet our WR corps surprises this year.
We continue to build with quality guys my friends! We are getting QUALITY looks also. Think about this fellas, we could go undefeated for like 12 straight years and STILL have a losing overall record. Look at what is happening with this program. Look at who is CONSIDERING to come play here. It is happening in front of our eyes.....enjoy it and don't get in to much of a hurry. We are going to have some fun earning our way to respectability. We owe these guys our support. Plenty of room on this bandwagon!
