They played like shit today ... if IU beats an underwhelming Iowa team at home by 2 failing to cover the spread, with 17 TOs, 20% from three, you would never call it a good win. There would be a tsunami of posts talking about how bad the coach is. You talk out of your ass ..

Playing poorly and still winning a conference game. After just beating Wisconsin in Madison. Not a bad start
The difference is the big picture.
One coach has a long bright future, from Greene County Indiana, that took a no name team deep in the tournament.
The other coach has 6 million dollar roster that doesn’t pass the eye test and has continually sh!t the bed against real competition. And is 100 years old.

Yeah, we'd take it but they were not sharp today, far from it.
Those results in that game for IU ... totally different set of standards.
Haven't had a chance to watch them more than about 10 mins over Thanksgiving. Seemed they shot a lot of 3s and played pretty solid defense. But that was a small sample
I had the game on in the background but wasn't paying close attention. Seemed like they let Iowa back in to the game a couple of times after building a decent lead, and then only avoided overtime by a questionable goaltending call in their favor.
Also I'm not sure we have any standards any longer
Watching UK bring in Mark Pope and pop right back into the top 10ish while we are looking at another bubble squad is complete absurdity.

Yep. I hope Minnesota beats IU's ass in Assembly Hall next week. I also hope IU loses a nice 6-7 in a row to finally get this train off of the tracks for good. There is zero upside to this situation. Let's go Gophers!
The fan standard currently is almost absolute perfection on every play, and only if that play results in a three. While the standard for approval for opposing coaches stands at any coach that wins a game somewhere regardless how they win it.
Most of us get Woodson is not a good coach. IMO the root of his issues is he just doesn't comprehend or value possession based basketball, NCAA is possession based but when you have to make shit up, or spread dumbass rumors, or nitpick every little thing he does or compliment every other coach for nothing to prove it ..that's bullshit.
His record alone is enough... and he will make his own fate with this current team.

I agree with that... Though I don't really agree that most demand anything near perfection.
Basketball is not a game where you should be nitpicking play by play. Results matter., not always how you get to them. There are many ways to win games. And many ways to lose them... Over time, in aggregate.
I've made comments elsewhere of things that have made me quite pissed off that go even beyond what we've seen on the court for 4 years.
Probably the fan standard is the level of decision velocity and quality to make a move. We will see if Cignetti consistently wins but pulling the trigger on Allen just a few years after the bowl (I was never a TA Fan) is the "bold" move I expected with Woodson last year, yet here we are. I'd love to be wrong in March but I think everyone on this forum deep down estimates we are probably not a NCAA tourney team this year. Having to suffer another season of watching this dogshit product is nonsensical.
Agree. Wonder if it's all his NBA experience, the short shot clock, super fast pace, etc that effects his perception regarding the value of possessions in the college game. Also, I hate seeing posters on here rooting for us to lose. No way I could support that no matter what our opinions are regarding his coaching.
