Has May had a Dwayne Wade?Enlighten me. Please.
FAU is a lil different than MichiganExtensions don't mean much. Dusty signed a 10-year extension at FAU after his F4 run. What matters is the buyout.
Wow. That's all you got? You remember Crean at iu?Has May had a Dwayne Wade?
How far into Dusty career are we?Wow. That's all you got? You remember Crean at iu?
He did take Michigan from the B1G outhouse to the penthouse in one season. So there's that.Wow. That's all you got? You remember Crean at iu?
He’s not coming to IU. He used the situation to get a better contract. Good for him. But he’s gone.I wish people would relax.... Dusty May signed a 10 year extension with FAU, and then a year later, went to Michigan. His extension could be for 20 years....it doesn't matter. What matters is his buyout. Dusty's buyout with his old UM contract was 5M, and now it's 7.5M. That's about half of Cronin, Oates, Buzz Williams, etc.
Only 1 million more a year and 2.5 million more buyout? Something isn’t adding up imho. He’s not coming to IU. He used the situation to get a better contract. Good for him. But he’s gone.
If those are the new numbers, then the new contract is not really a deterrent.Only 1 million more a year and 2.5 million more buyout? Something isn’t adding up imho.
It sounds more like IU didn’t even offer. IMHO.If those are the new numbers, then the new contract is not really a deterrent.
Either IU got turned down by Dusty or they have someone else in mind.It sounds more like IU didn’t even offer. IMHO.
Pitino said beard is the best coach out there for IUNobody good is leaving their job to come here.
We’re going to end up with Tom Crean 2.0. A .63% type winner who makes the tourney 2/3 years. It’s who we are now.
If our $ can’t lure Dusty, the days of even thinking we’re elite are over.
Of course he did. They've become friends and Beard wants the job.Pitino said beard is the best coach out there for IU
May is going to win the Big in his first yearMay is Crean 2.0.
Like what Crean did at Georgia?.. Really showed his game at SEC money school. One hit wonder. Not even as accomplished as Crean.
Don't think so. IU woke Sparty upMay is going to win the Big in his first year

To be fair, I think the NIL payroll was closer to $5 million. But I digress. We couldn't fire a legacy coach that happens to be African American with a 3m dollar NIL budget, then hire someone, probably white, and give them 7m dollars to build a team. We had to let it play out, and get the chum in the water for this hiring cycle. Woody and crew can never say he didn't have every chance now.
If you drink enough after this season you can p#ss yourself in bed and you won’t even wake up.I wished for one of 2 things. Dusty to sign this extension or my prostrate to shrink. Lucky for me, the 5 times I get up tonight to p*#$ I'll be happy. I am surprised though.
Not a good showing then to lose at home to your rival on this day.
If you haven't watched that Pitino interview, he basically screamed: "I'm not coming and you're fools if you don't get Chris Beard!" The fit is so perfect, yeah, I expect we'll go a different direction.Go get Pitino for a few years and get the IU brand back and then find the right guy
Dusty's not coming. From what folks who claim to know him and his personality, he's not going to make all the glowing comments about UM today and then dump them in 2 months.I wish people would relax.... Why jump from a good lower pressure gig into the fishbowl?Dusty's not coming. From what folks who claim to know him and his personality, he's not going to make all the glowing comments about UM today and then dump them in 2 months.
Higher ceiling given resources provided to the program and the coach has got to want the glory. Why jump from a good lower pressure gig into the fishbowl?
Depends! If you drink enough after this season you can p#ss yourself in bed and you won’t even wake up.
Unusual circumstances but I knew some guys that had to meet a group for a long train ride. There was a few hour wait and so they rented a hotel room. One of the guys they met was absolutely drunk. They are all watching TV in the hotel except the one guy is passed out. He wakes up goes over and pees on the television screen and then goes back and passes out happy as a clam.Depends!

Maybe a little higher ceiling. But, look at the floors. They have been the better program for decades. He is closer to winning the B10 or getting to a FF right now than he would be at IU. Yes, potentially he could make IU into a top 5 program, but what if his results were like Miller at IU? Don’t you think he is pretty confident that he has MI as a top 20 program? IU is nowhere close to being a top 20 program.Higher ceiling given resources provided to the program and the coach has got to want the glory.
That said I don’t think he takes the IU job. We missed our shot with him last year.
I don’t think history means much, we had bad coaches and it was pre-NIL.Maybe a little higher ceiling. But, look at the floors. They have been the better program for decades. Yeah, I do agree with that, and we have a higher ceiling. But, look at it from his POV. He probably thinks he already has UM as a top 20 type program. There is a risk. I’m sure he’s pretty confident that if he stays where he is, he will be consistently competing for B10 titles with a chance for ncaa success.I don’t think history means much, we had bad coaches and it was pre-NIL.
We will give a coach all the resources they could ask for, top-5 or 10 everything. Someone just has to use all this money properly. Hire a good coach and we are back pretty quick.
I said I think he stays at UM. Agee it’s a lower risk job, lower pressure job. And to be clear, I don’t think the IU job is scary or anything like that.
Yea. I agree in both posts I said I think he stays at UM.Yeah, I do agree with that, and we have a higher ceiling. But, look at it from his POV. ...and signing the contract...no indication that has yet happened...maybe a bargaining ploy...agents aren't above anything...Extensions don't mean much. Dusty signed a 10-year extension at FAU after his F4 run. What matters is the buyout.
I got to admit Dusty was very smart to not say no to Indiana publicly. This way as you said got him a better contract. He’s not coming to IU. He used the situation to get a better contract. Good for him. But he’s gone.
You set your expectations way to high. Neither of those were every going to happen.Welp, with Brad and Dusty gone nobody else really excites me. 😟
Are there coaches to make us better? Sure. But they were the home runs who understood the job and expectations. Just don’t see anyone else out there who’ll leave a high profile job for IU.
