Disrespect already for 25

I said this will eventually happen. People still look at the ND and OSU game and think Indiana didn't belong. They still think our schedule was awful. There is a lot of baseless beliefs that were pushed out by the talking heads that chipped away at what Indiana accomplished.

My only concern is the lack of B1G rankings. I truly don't care where Indiana starts as long as the B1G has an ample # of teams ranked. Then IU will move up through winning. What's concerning is last year they ranked 9 SEC teams and 4 B1G teams and here this goober is repeating that same mistake. It gives the SEC such a large head start for absolutely no reason.

Illinois at 12 but Indiana nowhere to be seen in the top 25 for this guy. To not have them ranked at all is downright disrespectful. Next year's team probably has more talent than the 24 team who just went to the CFP.
I've seen a couple rankings now just like this one. And I agree--to not be in the top 25 is crap.

Nurse Ratched must have put a bunch of Saltpeter in McMurphy's meds this morning... if ya know what I mean.

Looking at his Top 25, this McMurphy guy must not have watched one game of college football this past year or looked at returning players and quality of incoming transfers.... Just having IU behind Navy, Kansas and Iowa State proves that.... He's gotta be jokin'

Like nearly all of these "way too early" polls...1) they're way to early, says it in their names 2)they're lazy, shots in the dark attempts

IU should be in the...12-18 range... by any reasonable educated guess, at this point...

They return a good core of their defense, which was one of the better defenses in the nation last year.

They got one of the top 5 portal QBs in Mendoza

They have a very good returning receiving core.

They return some good offensive linemen, and have signed some good ones.

And as of now, they're returning their HC who was national coach of the year, and both of their coordinators, who were also great. I suspect this McMurphy guy has no clue on all this stuff.

On the upside, this is the most attention Brett McMurphy’s top 25 has ever attained….way to go, Brett!

Apparently he has a title at the Action News network or something, but I’ve always been more of a Brian Fantana guy myself. Plenty of idiots with unintelligent positions. Let them be wrong.

He’s an Oklahoma State grad who has always had a heavy bias toward the Big 12. It’s one guy’s opinion. Don’t read too much into it or get worked up about it. There are a lot of other comments in that post from other fanbases saying he was off base. He loves the Big 12. We like it this way. We want a chip on our shoulder.

Whose worked up? I don't read anything into it other than he hasn't done his homework.

LOL on that 'top' 25 .

We may not end up there (I think we will) but we certainly deserve to start there much more than some of those teams.

Once the 'official' rankings come out they'll effect the 'official' CFP rankings because they committee is always influenced by names and outside rankings, then that weighting is sticky and the bias hangs around to the end.

It's a seriously f***ed up list. There are a good # of IU fans giving him much-earned crap over it.

He’s probably a top 10-15 national football reporter. Hard to imagine a college football fan isn’t familiar with him

So the guy worked at ESPN... for 5 years I see... and is supposedly a football "insider".... Well, I worked with ESPN for close to 40 years and I don't ever remember hearing his name.

It's easy for me to imagine other hard core college football fans not knowing who he is.

With ESPN? Or for ESPN?

With, or for, makes no difference.... Program packager making the shows for them with their talent.... and freelance prior to that... Other than the ESPN Exec. Producer or Coordinating Producer, rarely is an actual ESPN "employee" ever on site... and maybe the Operations Director will be an ESPN employee.... but, the Producers and Directors are RARELY actual employees of the nets. Most everyone is freelance/contract.

Of course you wouldn’t know him if you were broadcast. He was on the dot com.

Okay, you're the expert... of course I wouldn't because I don't know as much as you do....
well, you don’t know who Brett McMurphy is and I do. So I guess I do know more than you.

Beyond that, I’ve worked for the same incredibly large entity for almost 20 years. There are tons of people that I don’t know that work for the same employer and we’re not even spread all the way across the country like ESPN employees are. So just because you were both employed by the same person doesn’t necessarily mean you would know who they are just as coworkers. But if you followed college football as a fan on a national level, you would most certainly know who the hell he is.

Okay you know who he is, congrats to you. Still, that doesn't mean you know anything,....Obviously you don't know how close knit it is at some levels.... Your logic is so flawed it's ridiculous.... Action Network and Brett McMurphy... yep, household names that are on the tip of the tongue of every football fan in the country..... Where do you come up with this shit? LOL!!
