Did Cignetti's Words Fire Up OSU?

We can't have it both ways.

We be all in for a coach who makes all these statements about this team sucka and that team sucks and then cry about a team scoring on us in the final minute of a game that we had every opportunity to stop.

Loser mentality.
exactly,

guaranteed it was bulletin board material but cigs bravado has served us well this yr. who'd thought we would even be in games like this with all the national attention?

if you dish it you have to be able to take it. they won...credit to them

that doesn't mean it still wasn't a pussy move to end the game like that. o$u and fans are way too obnoxious/classless to ever take the high road.

that's not the last time we'll meet, we will play again and I'll also guarantee cc reminded day when they shook hands that he won't forget it....

on to the next game AT HOME where we have the opportunity to make statement of our own. I hope we take advantage.....

and finally, that last td didn't mean sh!t as far as playoffs/ranking are concerned. everybody and their grandmother could see it for what it was

With losses by Colorado, Mississippi, Alabama and BYU, it looks like Indiana will still make the twelve team NCAA football playoffs unless they stumble badly against Purdue. But I hope that Coach Cignetti learned a valuable lesson. You never say that any opponent sucks and you especially don't do that if your opponent is OSU. I have never heard of better bulletin board material than that if you are OSU. The only good thing about yesterday is that OSU now considers IU a worthy opponent but Cignetti needs to eat some humble pie and just shut up.
I don’t think something Coach said 9 months ago makes a bit of difference. I think the fact that we were rated number 5 and were undefeated possibly added to the motivation. But most likely, the fact that they have all 5 stars and 4 had more to do with it.

I don’t care about them scoring. I care about them getting into victory formation and then running it in. Did they think they had to run a trick play? That’s definitely bush league.

Somebody on X last night, associated with OSU or close to the program in some way ... said the locker room is not happy with Day making Henderson take a knee on his 32 yard run so Howard could do his little act in the end zone after scoring.

No, OSU had 8 guys who could be in the NFL now, come back for 3 goals. 1. To beat Michigan 2. To win the Big Ten 3. Win a National Title. The end of the game was a shot at IU but the beating was focus on a goal that without a victory over IU they wouldn’t have been able to achieve. It was more about the narrative that Day and OSU can’t win top 5 matchups or that he’s a terrible coach. The guy was literally a missed targeting call on MHjr or missed FG vs Georgia from a NC.

Look, I hope this becomes a rivalry! Is Day is dick? Maybe but Cig is too. I’m 32 and my entire life, Hell… My father’s entire life, OSU has been a national title contender. To become a rival means you are their equal.
Are you an IU undergrad but OSU post-grad?
I think you indicated that before?

Anyway, yesterday was my first trip over there in decades. The stadium itself….hasn’t changed a bit. The concourses under the stands are absolutely disgusting. I was shocked. I thought there would be some kind of amenities and overhaul but they looked like they haven’t invested a dime since 1940. Dirty. Pipes running overhead. Terrible lighting. The people at the concessions were ver, vety nice but the concession “stands” if you want to call them that, were tiny. Essentially cutouts in the side of the walls. The interior guts underneath the stands were absolutely archaic and not what I expected from a top shelf football school. I have been overly critical of Memorial Stadium and things like the t.v.’s but The Shoe and it amenities, or lack thereof, make IU’s stadium look like the Ritz-Carlton. I mean, it was mind boggling how bad it is there. Seating is fine but the aesthetics need a ton of work.

Yes, I am. I agree about Ohio Stadium. The suites and club seating are very nice though and they are adding a private lounge for members next year. The WiFi works great but the stadium itself is just that. I like it though. You can feel the history in it. People used to say the same thing about St. John arena and then they built the Schott and it now they complain that it’s too corporate and professional feel, not college. Remember, Ohio Stadium is over 100 years old. Remodeling the inside and bathrooms though would be a good idea though. There’s a few really good food options in the stadium. For instance near our seats yesterday they have a stand that makes very good burgers. You just have to look. I also like that they have beer and food vendors that come around too.

I sat with my brother and family. He has 4 season tickets and his father in law has 4 together in 26 A. He (my brother’s father in law) sold his Michigan tickets for $3400.

Generally speaking, I agree with the post.

The post-game handshake seemed anti-climactic. I’m not a great lip reader, but Cignetti seemed to take the high road and offer congratulations.

Ryan Day’s pre-game admonition to his team “to leave no doubt” was arrogantly par for the course not to mention the various end of game antics. Seems like an insecure bunch given the $20 million payroll.

Nevertheless, OSU was the better team, yesterday.
