Dems have no one to run for POTUS in 2020

Tell me the truth. Do classical conservatives dream of Trump being impeached early in his Administration? He pulled a rabbit out of the hat with a stunning win of both the Presidency, and both houses of Congress. It seems like a dream scenario for true conservatives to have Pence and someone like Haley in the White House, with Ryan and McConnell pushing through their agenda. House money.

Perhaps. Probably better left suited for someone like @CO. Hoosier to answer than me. I'm too moderate.

Didn't he just get past a sex scandal a few years ago?

I know it seems kind of silly to care about such things in this day and age, but I'd really like a home run for 2020. No baggage at all.
Evidently had to deal with a drinking problem as well.

He's incredibly smart, charismatic, candid, and comes across as a real person. His only hindrance is experience. He's a star-in-waiting, and he needs to stop being in-waiting soon.

Gavin will be elected Governor of California in 2 years. Would he jump right into a Presidential race that soon, or wait until 2024?

If this election, with Bernie and The Donald, has taught us anything it's that the public wants something different from what they've been offered in the past. Of course, things may change by 2020 and the electorate may pine for sane and stable, but Morrison's list is more of the same old conventional politicians working their way up the ladder.

I actually was hopeful for O'Malley this last cycle, and would like to see him go after it again. Klobuchar or Gillibrand would be solid as VP candidates. But if I could schedule the next election for March of 2017? I'd pick the least conventional politician of the bunch -- Al Franken. I think he'd be able to do a straight talking, no bullshit, tell it like it is and be willing to step on some toes type of campaign better than anyone else mentioned, and that seems to be the key today.

Hold up bro, I mentioned Franken along with several more unconventional candidates, including Kanye, Alec Baldwin, Jon Stewart, etc. Ha ha! I supported O'Malley as well this year, until HRC made it clear he wouldn't be on the short list for VP, if he didn't play nice with her. He attacked her effectively, after it was too late. If I'm being honest, my dream ticket for 2020 would be Martin O'Malley/Kamela Harris. I could get on board with several different candidates, and think Kamela works well on the ticket with almost anyone.

I'm intrigued by the love affair several Democrats here at the Cooler have with O'Malley.

I like him because he's an Irish Catholic Democrat, that plays in a band and drinks beer and Irish whiskey! Isn't that enough? I also like Ryan and Kaine for the same reasons.

Seriously, I like O'Malley's positions( he's very much a progressive, and successfully initiated much of the progressive agenda as Governor of Maryland, although most people think he's a moderate). I think he is tough, and would be neither a hawk or pacifist on foreign policy. He looks the part, and reminds me of a young Joe Biden more than anyone else, and I think it's a tragedy that Biden was never elected POTUS. Actually, he COULD be another Joe Biden, if he would let loose and stop coming across as scripted and calculating, which is his biggest liability up to this point.
