Delaney opens B10 Media Days

My initial reaction is what a bunch of crap. A “perceived” inequality? If they were to go back and rank the past 50 years I bet there would still be the same “perception”

He's has the best "shovel and distribute" technique I've seen/heard in years... Possible next mayor of Chicago standing right there. He'd be a perfect fit...

Loved the part in the top article in regard to gambling... More education... pffft... He knows the guys that go after the players are small time compared to the racket he's been turning a blind eye to for decades where certain schools literally own certain refs...

When the B10 was voting on the E/W divisions I wrote a letter
to Glass asking him to vote no on the divisions. The reply
I received from the AD stated, "we want to play the very best"
meaning the administration was OK with getting waxed every
year because IU could fill the stadium every other year for
the Ohio State & Michigan games and maybe sell a game
to Yankee Stadium.

Glass reminds me of a journeyman PGA golfer who has greatly benefited from the Tiger Woods era of big time money purses.

Most of the players, while very talented, have made tremendous money because of the Phil Mickelson/Tiger Woods era. Glass is making money off of the BIG TEN NETWORK and the TV deals.

Is he 100% committed to winning football? Or is he just happy to be flush in cash and thump his chest about the perceived wonderful job he has done because of the TV deal that spews out $100 dollar bills.

Winning is where it's at, hopefully we're getting there.

You think they were going to change the divisions if FG requested it? Ummm...why? How much power do you think he has?

Also, our last 3 games against Michigan include 2OT, OT, and a blown 4th quarter lead. Our last two home games against OSU include a final play potential game tying TD, and a blown 3rd quarter lead. Who's getting "waxed?" We also have 7 home games this year. WTH are you talking about?

No kidding. It's not like IU has any kind of say in how football related decisions are made at the conference level. I give him a ton of credit for just being able to preserve the IU/PU annual game, which could have become just part of the inter-divisional rotation. The other members would have had a legitimate objection, as that made two weaker teams less available for inter-divisonal play.

Well no, FG does not dictate to Delany but why vote for something
that is going to be a determent to the football program.

As for the close calls, at the end of the day they
all amounted to L L L. Recruits pay attention to
W/L records and they do not care how close
the game was before a loss.

I am sure Delany could care less what FG thinks, but
why vote for something that would not be
in the best interest of the football program.

we're now in a division with OSU, Mich, MSU, and PSU.

we used to be in a "division" with OSU, Mich, MSU, PSU, Wisc, Iowa, and Minn.

we always have played the best. that's a good thing.

i don't ever want to trade an elite level sched for an easier one, and i'd be willing to bet that most of the players love playing against marquee teams.
