Within minutes of one another, Twitter had reports that Dedelow had signed with Pittsburgh....and then IU Baseball tweeted out that he is staying for his senior year (good choice).

Apparently the latter is the correct information, but I was a little concerned he was making a bad decision. Thrilled to have him back for '17!

Dedelow Will Return to Indiana in 2017

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.
– Indiana outfielder Craig Dedelow has decided to return to the Hoosiers for his senior season in 2017 after being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 34th round (1,035th overall) of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Dedelow is coming off his third season with the Hoosiers. During the 2016 campaign, the Third Team All-Big Ten selection finished tied for 11th in the league in doubles (16). In conference games only, he was tied for fourth in total bases (52), tied for fifth in home runs (4), tied for 10th in hits (32) and 11th in slugging percentage (.510). Dedelow is a career .303 hitter at Indiana with 31 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs and 81 RBI.

Dedelow was one of four Indiana Baseball players that were taken in this year's draft. Left-handed pitcher Caleb Baragar (9thround, pick 275 to the San Francisco Giants), right-handed pitcher Jake Kelzer (18th round, pick 527 to the Philadelphia Phillies) and left-handed pitcher Kyle Hart (19th round, pick 568 to the Boston Red Sox) each heard their name called in the 2016 Draft.
