Dear Mr Dolson, you already hired a gun slingin’ sh!t talkin’ gangster …

In Cignetti. Finish the job and hire Chris Beard.

Take that heat for a summer, then twirl your revolver knowing you got 2 alpha’s ready to effing dominate.

And don’t apologize for it.
I agree 100%. The only question is can he get it past Pam? And if so are they both ready to withstand the fallout?

Any heat would be illusory, IMO.

Why did the folks at Ole Miss not have any problem hiring him? You think they want him to leave?

This “heat” is the single biggest reason our basketball program has become so ordinary and moribund.

Because Ole Miss doesn’t care. Louisville and UK had openings. Why didn’t they try to hire him.

And that’s our problem in a nutshell.

Same mindset that led people to scoff at the idea of hiring Bruce Pearl 15-20 years ago.
Yep. I know it’s hard to think we could hire a decent coach who also has some semblance of ethics. I think we can. We tried that once with Sampson and got burned.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

^^^^ Beard's offense ^^^^

Dolson gets lucky on a hire, the coach has 1 good season and now he's a coaching search guru. Hilarious.

I don’t see a fallout happening if they choose Beard. I see more ticket sales and more wins. My mom always says just ignore them.

Fallout from the hire is one thing. But the real risk is that Beard has another incident, alcohol related, DV, whatever. There's nowhere for anyone to hide once they hire a dude with an alcohol/violence issue in their past and then he does it again after you've made him the highest paid public employee in the State, and face of your program.

You guys have built Chris Beard up into the next John Wooden. There's a reason he's at Ole Miss and not at any of the top tier programs that opened up last year.

He will get another big time gig.

Then I guess IU will go back to the drawing board again for another coach. What’s a few more years of delay?

You're right. Chris Beard is the only coach that could possibly succeed at IU. Make me wonder how all of these other programs can be successful without him.
Cmon Hank. I think you're being a little childish. I don't think anyone's saying he's the be all end all. Some of us just happen to think he would be successful here.

But the post I was responding to suggested that if we didn't hire Beard we'd be looking again, and delaying success for a few more years. I just don't think Beard is the only coach capable of success here.

I completely respect you. You know this. But … IU basketball needs a fackin wounded, cornered animal hungry to prove himself and announce authority.

Coaches offenses or defenses … meh.

Hire this junkyard dog and get to it.

He’s exactly what IU needs.
