A little bit of both, brother.
I was a varsity coach in Indiana for nearly 20 years, so I'll get a morsel or two now and then, but I don't know much. I overheard Romeo tell one of my players that he was going to IU well before he announced.
I will say this and it's probably mostly known already. I'm confident Beard wants or wanted the job. I have no idea whether IU is interested, but he is and has made it known.
I hope he gets it.

Nobody really cares about sleeze when it comes to athletics or coaches. Last night the announcers were all gushing over Kelvin Sampson. All this stuff in the world of sports goes away and people forget about because winning is all that matters. May not like it but it’s the truth. SMU was perhaps the dirtiest rule breakers in all of college sports and the only team to ever receive a death penalty. This year, they were in the college football playoff and nobody said shit. Because? It all blows away eventually.
