D1Baseball just finished their top 100 program rankings. These are current PROGRAM rankings and don't take in consideration of previous seasons. Their ultimate goal here is to identify the programs in the best shape right now, with an eye toward the next five to 10 years. Here are the B1G rankings for those teams that made the list:

OSU - 91st

Iowa - 72nd

Washington - 70th

Illinois - 54th

Michigan - 44th

Nebraska - 43rd

Maryland - 42nd

Indiana - 41st

UCLA - 40th

Oregon - 38th

As expected, the warm weather schools led the way with the top 10 programs being: FSU - 10th, Texas - 9th, Miss. St. - 8th, Texas A&M - 7th, Virginia - 6th, Arkansas - 5th, Vanderbilt - 4th, Florida - 3rd, Tennessee - 2nd, and LSU - 1st. A team of interest is Louisville at 18th.

I’m sorry, but I’ve never actually thought Louisville should have any advantages over IU. The only way they rank higher is coaching/player development. Or am I missing something?

One thing you never miss is a chance to throw shade on Mercer. Louisville is in the second strongest conference in the nation, the B1G usually comes in either side of the Sun Belt. Since the Bart replaced Sembower IU has been as consistently at or near the top of the B1G as anyone. U of L generally upper half of ACC. Under Mercer recruiting and performance have generally improved. WRT player development comparisons between the IU & U of L, I don’t recall a significant U of L player who transferred from IU. Off the top of my head recently Perkins, Whalen, Colopy, perhaps Dickerson come to mind from U of L.

Not intended. I save my shade for in-season goof ups. It was an honest question, believe it or not. I refuse to see any legitimate reason IU should take a backseat to that shitty campus in anything.

No question wtg campus. Unfortunately decades of poor athletic department management allowed to progress from Mo Valley to ACC and national athletic relevance while IU played basketball and appreciate Big Ten revenue sharing.
