We coulda had Brad Stevens. So disappointed with this hire...Looks like Mike may be a conduit for former players like Tom to rejoin the family. I love the hire. Need the bigs to play much better D. Hope Mike can be a great influence on D in the paint. CAM should get big credit here for the hire.
If they would just open up the wallet...We coulda had Brad Stevens. So disappointed with this hire...
Open the wallet for a third assistant? lolIf they would just open up the wallet...

Laugh all you want, that might have really kept us from hiring someone respectable.Open the wallet for a third assistant? lol
You’re a laugh riot. We DID hire someone respectable with a good resume.Laugh all you want, that might have really kept us from hiring someone respectable.
Nothing against Roberts, but this smells a lot like a low budget hire. No way Roberts was at the top of any list when this search started. You’re a laugh riot. We DID hire someone respectable with a good resume.
On what basis do you consider him the “#3”? What does that even mean, anyway? What was Eddie? He has a good resume and is an IU guy and Indiana native. He’s the #3. R-E-L-A-X

TOM OSTROM, TITLEOn what basis do you consider him the “#3”? What does that even mean, anyway? What was Eddie?
And that’s totally meaningless if it relates to anything other than the sequence of hiring.TOM OSTROM, TITLE
BRUISER FLINT, TITLE
- Associate Head Coach
. . . and the third assistant coach, Mike Roberts
- Assistant Coach
Surely the associate head coach is above the other two, no?And that’s totally meaningless if it relates to anything other than the sequence of hiring.
Those are often title distinctions that aren’t, from a practical standpoint, meaningful. Duties in practice, game preparation and scouting, and recruiting are parceled out without regard to titles. And no one is referred to as the “#3”.Surely the associate head coach is above the other two, no?
Oh it’s a low budget hire.
Roberts will probably do fine though.

No I don’t think it’s a program killer. It’s the 3rd assistant. But Archie needs a savior and I can’t see Roberts being it. Archie can’t seem to recruit top end talent outside IN which will ultimately be his downfall. This was an opportunity lost (it appears) to make that happen.1. You don't know who was on the list.
2. You said in another thread that this was the third assistant position and it wasn't all that important.
SO, why bitch about it?
Sorry, I already know the answer to that question.
If Archie would have hired an AAU recruiting specialist you would have accused him of paying players and said we needed an IU guy. The thing about being an iconoclast is that eventually no one can identify your values. Yourself included. No I don’t think it’s a program killer. It’s the 3rd assistant. Mike Roberts?
Our recruiting has come off the rails...Needs a savior? Lololol

I'm not sure which troll you're replying to but the answer to that question is easy. The trolls considers bitching about IU basketball and football to be their purpose in life. For some of them it's like their full time job!SO, why bitch about it?
For the first time, I don’t believe you.No, no I wouldn’t have.
I’ve never, EVER, ever said we needed an “IU guy” at anything.
And I’ve never complained about AAU guys in the past. I’ve just pointed out we’re no better than other “dirty” programs in some people’s eyes. That’s not me complaining. I would have loved a big name AAU guy.
If we can't get Brad or Billy, my #1 choice is Archie...and it's not even remotely close. I mean there's a mile between anyone else on the list. The guy can recruit, he can coach, and he'd build the kind of brand we need at IU.
I’m comfortable being the “bad guy” for now. You and others will be back with me when you finally realize Archie is a clown show.
I was wrong on Archie. I’ve said it 100 times. Why can’t others admit it too?Which time was he wrong?
Dude's a troll that plays both ends all the time and then when he get's busted, he goes back and edits posts like he did with his Billy Donovan 100% Lead Pipe Lock BS.
We haven’t landed a top 100 player in nearly a year. This would be unacceptable for Rutgers or Penn St.blah blah blah
no, it hasn't.

Because others aren’t anti-IU trolls.I was wrong on Archie. I’ve said it 100 times. Why can’t others admit it too?
Archie can do no wrong he is like a combination of coach k and jesus
