In honor of this historical moment in IU football, I propose a day of no politics and/or political threads. Instead, we have one thread where we talk about football, favorite tailgate foods, best beers, three-quarter zips, sh*t-talk to each other, and other general non-political BS (and disc golf).

What do you think? If the WC is on board, I'll start a thread around 8am ET.

Also, what should we name this potentially epic thread?

I think that's a winning idea if we can pull it off.

i'll start and probably not the positive tone you're looking for but if the games are tied to bowl games i think the allotment for each team should come close to 50/50. it's still in the home stadium but part of the appeal of a bowl game is getting to bring a shit ton of your fans

I’m buying a pack of Marlboro reds for the occasion. It will be a hell of a long day, but I couldn’t miss it. May never happen again.
I wasn't ever man enough for reds. I could only handle Marlboro Lights. I would partake in a Newport occasionally, they're so disgusting.

I don’t know about 50/50 because I do think home team should mean something. But it should be much more than a regular season game allotment.

This may sound crazy, but I'd almost prefer we were in a warm bowl game than in this playoff game. Of course, if we win, we will be. And I might even consider going.
I have a funeral Sat morning or otherwise would have considered going with the boys to nd. It’s not crazy but this playoff game has greater value to the program. Historical etc. every time they look at the playoffs in the past etc IU will be included. It elevates the program. But I hear ya

IU only got tickets for three sections in a corner. Really is bull.

As with the NCAA basketball tournament, the games should be at neutral sites, preferably in domed stadiums (as much as I hate basketball and baseball in domes). Weather becomes a non-factor. I appreciate the desire for full stadiums, which you might not get if a team has to travel several thousand miles.

And even if they stick with these first round games at home venues, at least create a more equitable ticket distribution. IU gets a handful. Tennessee gets a handful . . .

Five charter busses just went by my neighborhood at a high rate of speed and with a full police escort. Judging by the route, gotta be the team heading to the airport.

This shit is getting real.

Could just be middle class tourists worried about their safety on their way to French Lick

I went to undergrad with a lot on NYC Jewish girls so I’ve smoked a lot of Parliaments. These days my dart consumption is limited to Carb Day.
By the way they don’t serve alcohol inside Notre Dane stadium. You’re going to have to sneak it in if you plan on drinking.
