1. Trump nominates conservative climate-denying Congressman to head NASA.
2. Said Congressman learns about climate and exposes himself to research.
3. Said Congressman (now NASA head) does a 180, and now accepts climate change consensus.

Besides the fact that this is hilarious for Trumpistas and climate deniers, let's give props to Bridenstine for making the effort to actually learn and change his views based on evidence. But let's also wonder why this kind of information or introspection wasn't available to Bridenstine as a Congressman, and it took his appointment to NASA to open his mind.

I read that article as saying the evolution began while he was still in Congress. Did he ever flat out deny man made climate change right before he went to NASA? I think his mind was already opening to to possibility.

Besides, there is a vast difference between learning something incrementally vs. being immersed in it every day. So much of what NASA does it related to climate studies.

Sadly, there’s also the factor of politicians feeling pressure to get in line with the conventional views of their party.

That's why it's so dangerous that the GOP has made climate denial a requirement for the Republican tribe. There isn't any other major political party in the democratic world that does this.
Climate denial benefits only a few in their tribe. The vast majority of trans-Lucite lemmings don't see that it's to their detriment.

Oddly enough that’s (supposedly) not why anyone votes for them.
