Lane Kiffin is a flat ass whiney prick. Probably no one watched it, I happened to be flipping channels but the end of his game last night and his post-game interview was an embarrassment. throwing a 50-yard bomb up 52-10 with 1 second left and then blamed it on his quarterback. then in the interview bragging how they destroyed a 9-3 ACC team. Ole Miss virtually had their team intact, Duke started a 3rd string QB and had numerous starters in the portal. F the SEC and F him. Texas is damn lucky to be in the Semis. I guess his beat down of a depleted team somehow justifies all the SEC complaints and the rest of their bowl and CFP performances don't matter.

Cigs is very aware of his brash comments at time. He’s intentionally trying to inflate his team and fan base given IU’s losing culture and history. He knows what he’s doing, unlike jackass Kiffin.
right and he's not derogatory towards opponents. Kiffin kept stating that's the 3rd best defense in the ACC we just ran all over.

Yea. I get Cignetti can make people uncomfortable sometimes (me included) and maybe he got a little over his skis once or twice, but it's clear what he was doing in terms of changing the program's thinking and the perception of IUFB. That was a very hard job and he did it.

I think he will reel in some of the brash comments next year.
But that’s just his nature as a coach and it rubs people the wrong way, which is understandable.
But as someone mentioned he does not direct the comments toward the opponent.
As for Kiffen,he’s just a punk who has never won anything.
He’s the type that got his lunch stolen in grade school.

He was over the skis a little before the ND game, but was consistently complimentary toward them on being a well coached, strong team, like he always is toward the other team.

Of course later 'we kicked all their asses' :D not specifically naming any one team. LOL

(You know who you are, lol)

He can take it too as well as dish it out. When we lose he expresses the team is disappointed and then talks about getting back to work. Like when Ohio State scored at the end. He shrugged, said they need to do what's right for their team.

Cig plays the media like a fiddle. This man has been a God send not just for IU football, but college football as a whole.

What impressed me most about him was watching him in the on field, immediate post game interviews after we just smoked someone. At the end of each one, you could see him starting to choke up a little bit before he closed the interview and ran off.

Cig runs a very tight ship. His mantra is fast, physical and relentless; not LEO. Yet it was clear to see how much this team meant to him. I guarantee you those players will have his back, and Cig will have theirs, forever.

What comments of Cignetti’s made you feel uncomfortable and why?
Personally, I like my football coaches brash. It’s a brash sport for the gladiators, not meant for the mousey in horn-rimmed glasses.

Kiffin is probably a good coach, but when asked about the UK loss hurting them instead of owning it, he stated Kentucky would win 7 or 8 games in the BIG, that is bullshit, UofL blasted them in their final game of the year. He also took a shot at Vandy's QB last night for going to court getting an extra year of eligibility.

I mean, does anyone not understand what Cig is doing when he says he's in the entertainment business?

He understands what he's doing. He getting attention to us in ways we've never had before. He's changing the perception of Indiana football.

It's a crime that this is Cig's first p4 head coaching gig. There are a lot of dumb ADs out there.

We'll see if the SEC can stay on top in the NIL era.
It used to be cheating to pay players as highly as they did, so the competition was not as strong or as wide spread. (See Indiana.) Much of their league will stay at or near the top though, they have a good TV deal, and their collectives are going to have deep pockets for football.
It's a new world, Lane. Yeah, it used to be 'just different', like you said, but now everybody pays guys.

Cig is probably a brash, confident, maybe ever arrogant guy. However, he used all that to IU’s advantage since he arrived. It was a moribund program that didn’t believe anything good could ever happen. He changed that narrative and created expectations.

The flip side is that your opponents aren’t going to like you. When you do fail, they will pile on. You talk shit, you gotta walk the walk or expect the blow back. I think he’s 100% aware of what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. He can also eat a plate a shit when it doesn’t work out and come back ready the next time.

He’s the coach IU needs and we are damn lucky to have him.

Point blank, a guy like CCC is exactly this program needed. You couldn't have made a better fit for us in Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. It's as if the football gods finally got tired of laughing at us and decided to smile upon us instead. It's like he was curated specifically for us, bespoke if you will.

Well said, your thoughts. IU football had been down so long it took a few games for our fans to realize what it is we have. Remember Cignetti running out of the tunnel and turning his head to the stands to see a sparse crowd? Those days are over. Our next home game will be a sellout, even if against Tiddlywinks College.

Absolutely.

He’s not Edward R Murrow. .
He’s calculated. He’’s selling.

He dyes his hair to look young for f sake. Woody does it for cigar bar vanity.

Brilliant.
He’s aware and engaged.
Its great.

And calculation is what we need to go forward past this year.

Big adjustments coming.
