I didn't realize that Lovejoy HS was so steeped in tradition in Georgia that it routinely turns out D1 players.
Henderson didn't play much before a year ago because he was playing behind other guys who were older and ended up getting scholarships. I didn't know Lovejoy HS was in Georgia's largest level of play.
On film Henderson shows very long arms and a relentless attitude that allows him to make plays because he doesn't give up till the whistle blows. He's got good quickness, stays in an athletic stance and really attacks. He's got a frame that can hold more weight. Probably 20-25 lbs without losing quickness. He could be an athletic end, or maybe develop as a Bandit.
Chris didn't have a ton of high offers initially. But he was offered by Louisville and Bobby Petrino. I'm not a Bobby Petrino fan. I'm not a fan of Rick Pitino either. Rick is a GREAT coach. He's just dangerous in restaurants. Bobby Petrino may not be adept at riding motorcycles, but he knows football talent and volleyball.
2/3 of all HS recruits never see the field. I realize that. Chris Henderson has some nice natural ability that may develop over time with a lot of hard work and a fair amount of good fortune. I wish him luck on his journey. I'm excited to see how that pans out for him and for IU.
