I'll disagree. PSU is playing in Indy instead of OSU because at Oregon was on OSU's schedule but not PSU's.

If Oregon beats PSU in the title game, there simply is no argument for PSU to be ranked ahead of OSU, given the H2H results. OSU also lost by 1 in Eugene, a result that will be worse for PSU if they lose.

Given that Tennessee is ranked ahead of OSU, that means PSU falls behind Tennessee too. Their floor might not even be the 9 seed, if they're embarrassed (OSU-Wisconsin 2014 type of game), they could even fall behind us.

By that same logic, Bama would get seeded higher than Georgia if Georgia loses the SEC championship

I agree, I don't think PSU falls below 6 even if they get run a little bit.

Curious to see what the committee does with Miami. If the polls are an indication they are on the outside looking in and Alabama is the last team in.

The we are not going to penalize talk has to be if you were in before the conference title games you will stay in. I guess thus could get tested based on where SMU ends up thus week and what happens in their game with Clemson. Will be interesting uf they are 9 or 10 and then Clemson wins big what they would do

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. PSU lost at home to OSU while Georgia lost on the road to Bama. PSU has no top 15 wins while OSU beat IU and PSU.

Georgia also has multiple top 15 wins (at Texas by 15, "neutral" field vs Clemson by 30, vs Tennessee by 14). Bama has a 2 point win at home to South Carolina and the win over Georgia where they nearly blew a 28 point lead.

Georgia's losses are an Ole Miss and Bama team both ranked in the top 15. Bama has a blowout loss at unranked Oklahoma, a loss to unranked Vanderbilt, and a loss at Tennessee.

But could they? Sure. The issue with the committee is that there are no rules for selecting teams. There's nothing that says "you can't penalize them for playing in the conference championship game". Otherwise the field would already be announced.

The CFB rankings meetings should be televised. Not going to happen but that would be an interesting show. Full transparency even if it’s scripted.
