Why would Putin possibly agree to a ceasefire when Ukraine is clearly on their back heels? Strategically I can't think of any possible reason for Putin to agree barring significant Ukrainian concessions. Trump has himself stated that Russia has all the cards. If I'm Putin I'm telling Trump to go take a hike.

We're giving two cards back to Ukraine by reinstating intel support and unfreezing arms shipments.
Putin, a former KGB chief and someone who has personally murdered people and who has ordered the death of countless more, is afraid of Trump.
They were already on the back foot with those 2 cards. A ceasefire at this point only helps Ukraine rest and rearm. I think only an idiot would agree to a ceasefire from the Russian side and Putin is no dummy.
Europe is also stepping up. There's a real chance that Putin will agree to a ceasefire. He's hurting with 100s of thousands of casualties, to the point they need troops from North Korea. They can't keep up with their supply transportation needs and resorting to horses, mules and donkeys. Life isn't great for Russia.
Putin already has a massive hall if he just keeps the land he’s stolen. How much more is he realistically gonna get and at what cost.? His gains have already come at a massive cost in terms of economics and Russian blood.
This is a gift for Putin.
I think it's important to be cleared eye. All of that maybe true, but multiply it by 5 for Ukraine. Putin recently got North Korean reinforcements and the Russians reportedly outnumber Ukrainians dozens to 1 in Kursk. It's a war of attrition and the Ukrainians are out men. Putin isn't an imbecile. It would take real pressure to get him to the ceasefire table. Threatening sanctions and tariffs to the most heavily sanctioned country on earth isn't close to that threshold.
They aren’t out and it’s not 12-1, if it was Russia’s military is even more pathetic than they’ve proven to be to this point.
I think the general wisdom is a temporary ceasefire plays into Putin's hand, because he can recharge and reload faster thank Ukraine. That math might change if Europe really steps up to the plate, but that will take time to get done.
Most important with his tweet, Zelenskyy is back at the negotiating table after he got Vanced. If Putin refuses to ceasefire, the pressure goes back on Greatest Genius of All Time to resupply intel among other things. Some conservatives in Congress aren’t happy.
I think they already turned intel back on, and released the paused supplies, unless I read wrong.

Putin's forces have entered Suzsda, and are pushing further into Sumy Oblast: western print media is estimating as high as 10,000 Ukrop and NATO mercenary forces are facing being surrounded with only a 1, 000 meter corridor to escape. Russian Akhmat have succeeded in infiltrating 5-600 Special Forces into Suzsda. Russia has resumed control over 80% of the Kursk AO.
No way Russia buys into any 30-day pause or ceasefire.
