California succeeding?

If they were good Christians they would not have been illegals. To be honest I am against any religion or creed who break our laws.
So they should stay in their country and let their children be killed ( as of course is not always the case, but sometimes.

Nothing un Christian about supporting the rule of law. Romans 13 says it well 1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
No authority except GOD. Did God draw these boundaries?

I’m reading about the genocide in Rwanda now. I guess it was God’s will that all the Tutsi’s , women and little children, were killed, because it was the government that did most of the killing. Nearly a million people. Is that what you believe,, Van?

Every nation on the planet has borders.
Every nation on the planet has immigration laws that they enforce.
Somehow, the United States borders and immigration law enforcement constantly becomes a political football marked by propaganda and violence, with both sides claiming lack of respect for the law.

WTF people?

And just to start another fight - which is the worse "threat to democracy"? January 6 or this?

Carry on.

Jan 6th, and I don't think anyone is advocating for open borders. but to bring Jesus into this is beyond dumb

Are you reading We Wish to Inform You . . . ?

Have they separated out the #'s for govt vs. militia vs. private people doing the killing?

Aren't you a lawyer? Law is in your title. Stranger in this text is actually slaves. They were not invaders. Israel went to war with invaders.

“‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."

Leviticus 19:33-34

I am. It’s fascinating. After I got to know our driver/ guide better at the end of the week I talked to him some about it. I’m just at the part after the genocide, so not sure yet. I know what some of the priests did there was horrifying. Our guide told us that now it’s illegal to even ask if someone is Hutu or Tutsi, they are all Rwandans.

That book hit me hard.

That book hit me hard.
I watched Hotel Rwanda again before I went to remind myself a little. We went to the Genocide Museum our first day there. I knew I couldn’t read the book until I got home. It’s just impossible not to look at all the people, especially the kids there, and not think of the genocide. It’s just so hard to understand, suddenly killing your friends, neighbors, co workers. They seem to have done a decent job of moving on. And the US and UN really let them down.

Stranger means foreigner or alien. Your Hebrew is atrocious for a pastor.
Your knowledge of the law is atrocious. What I was saying was the meaning behind the word stranger. It is referring to how the Egyptians treated the Hebrews. They subjugated them. Now I do want to point out that they were not invaders
They came to Egypt as a family to buy grain because of a famine. After 400 yrs they left as a nation. There is no way the God of the Bible is for what you are ascribing to Him. He is not lawless. He would advocate for people to break the laws of a nation.

Did you leave out a “not”?

Jesus and Paul both taught “obey the government - they are there because God allows them to be there.”

Jesus never gathered up his folks to march on city hall and tell them what the law “should be.” He taught that “you are in this world, but not OF this world - focus on the Kingdon of God in the life to come.” Right?

In Jesus' day the Jews didn't get to vote because they were ran by the Romans. I could have left a word out so you make a good point. This isn't like writing a college paper.

Any government which exists was allowed by God to exist or it wouldn't. There are wicked men in the past no doubt. Belshazzar in Babylon blasphemed God and was sent a message by the writing on the wall basically saying, "you're done". But are we to believe even evil leaders don't punish theft, murder etc?

Then your god is an _______.

So we do not have free will? If God chooses our government then we do not have free will.

God causes nations to rise and fall. This is clear from the Scriptures. So we do have free will, but only to a certain extent. God also removes leaders as He chooses if they are not doing what He wants. Within their prescribed purpose from the Lord they have some free will. One example would be King David. He was King because God put Him there. But he committed adultery and arranged the death of the woman's husband. This changed the trajectory of what could have been. I believe from the study of the Scriptures King David died a broken man. This is what free will got him.

So God wanted 6 million Jews killed in concentration camps? (Or many less, if you're Mas.). Did he "remove" Hitler because he had killed too many, or not enough?

So Hitler was doing what God wanted for years and then suddenly God decided killing Jews was wrong?
