Building on Crazy's Guilty Pleasure Thread. What do you or your spouse/partner do

My wife has her own business. She has her own website and a Twitter page with over 10,000 followers. She’s CONSTANTLY getting texts, calls, and other alerts. So she started silencing her phone and only looking at it every once in a while so she doesn’t have to constantly deal with the noise.

Drives me INSANE. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact that woman.

But the worst is when she’ll call me and, for whatever reason, I can’t answer at that moment. I can call her back within one minute and she won’t answer because she’s put the phone down and walked away and the phone is silenced.

Drives me absolutely insane.
At least she works!!!

I’ve heard about those kinds of businesses women have…. I keed, I keed.

Ok, as our resident music snob (I don't mean that as an insult), what is your guilty music pleasure? Something you know from a technical standpoint is just elementary or garbage, but dammit, it just hits.
I have too many to count .... I listen to everything... that's real.

Almost everyone has at least one listenable song.

fwiw ... excuse me as I step on my soapbox ...

Greatness doesn't come from technicality and technical aspects never impressed the greats. Classical is probably the only exception to that ... in a way. The things that impress, awe, inspire and influence are the ideas displayed.

Anyone can do a double stop ascending slide pull off, it's just a move. To put it in its perfect place at the perfect time ... that's the impressive thing. You can do it with something as simple as three notes or the most complicated of fretboard keyboard etc masturbation ... but ultimately it's the idea that drives and defines it.

The Stones weren't defined by technicality, they could barely stay in time. They were defined by Keef's ability to pull cool ass riffs out of his ass and make 90,000 people dance to it.

Hmmm ...

how about this ..... no one listens to this. Yes I count it as a guilty pleasure .. I can't resist anything resembling Irish pipes.

I’m bored of IPAs. I hate the hazy juicy thing. When I need some hops I usually just buy SN Pale Ale.
There are some good mass produced IPAs. Sierra Nevada makes Celebration and Big Little Thing and I like them both.

But the local craft scene where I live - not in Indiana - is producing killer unfiltered NE style IPAs that taste like the nectar of the gods. The problem is they’re like 8% ABV and hundreds of calories.

that routinely pisses your partner off. We're getting ready to watch Better Call Saul and I've got my laptop on my lap and she goes "Get off that stupid fing board!" She HATES seeing rivals up.

So here's mine. A couple times a week in the morning as we're getting ready for the day I'll say to her: "What'd you got cookin today? Just goofin?" Or some variation. Ohhhh it pisses her off

I wake up. Pisses her off every morning.

Celebration is very good. The older I get the less I like the IPAs. I accused them all of doing something different in the hopping process. But, I think it’s just that my preferences have changed

When I need hops and a quick buzz, I buy some Hopslam. So delicious but it sneaks up on you if you have more than one.. or two.

Getting hammered and posting on Rivals at 2am does it pretty good for her.....

Seriously....She's chill 90% of the time and let's me do my thing. But then we cross the red line and things turn south quickly. Playing golf on Sat AM... even having lunch afterwards..no problem. Hanging out at the club drinking for another 3 hrs while shooting the shit w/ the guys while she's stuck home with the kids.... well now we've crossed the Rubicon. And the next 24 hours or so are gonna be rough.

Not that I blame her. I'm a selfish ass at times.

Good stuff on getting hammered! That's heartening to know. I wake up and check the board and you're one of the posters i like to read and when I see the time of your posts I just assume you have Bernie Sander's prostate

Most of their stuff is intolerable ... at least to me. I think it may be woke or something, but it's really bad. lol

I love all the old Celtic, Gealic, Scot, Irish folk stuff. The pipes, the drum rhythms, and especially drones.

I even like this stuff .. another guilty pleasure.

Where would music be without the Irish (and Scots, since that's where the Irish stole the melody) ..

Celebration is exceptional and I drink a ton of it each holiday season.

fwiw - the Stones were one of the worst rhythm sections to ever exist. they were so bad that the drummer and bassist followed Keef. Generally everyone follows the drummer and bassist, at least in a normal band with a good rhythm section. Stones were the odd ball.

The studio engineers did all the work cleaning up their mess and making it presentable. Read what Mick Taylor said about his first meeting with them or just listen to them when live and not cleaned up, like on a bootleg ... They're barely professional. And before you accuse me of hating them they are one of my favorite bands, I just hear the flaws.
I love The Stones, but I think it was Dave Marsh who after attending a live show years ago said, “The Stones couldn’t keep time with a Rolex.”

Yep... there is/was a local band that played at the Aristocrat in Indy 2x per month for decades....called Hogeye Navvy... all Celtic/Irish folk music. Great entertainment.... they still play there at least once a month. And I try to hit their show when I can
