I’m old enough to remember when Hillbilly Elegy was released and was a run away best seller, JD Vance was a smart, accomplished and creative guy who coped with and overcame a lot. The leftists celebrated him with a movie.
Then he ran for office as a Republican, and he was excoriated. Then Trump picked him and he became dog shit.
Vance is a normal guy in every respect, except he is much smarter than normal. He has a smart normal wife. He has an attractive normal family. As far as I am concerned, he is the best of the four at the top of the tickets— by a long way. . Yeah he says things that get blown out of proportion. But they need to be said. With the possible exception of Haley, whomever Trump picked would have been an awful pick and a terrible person. The media made the moron Kamala into a competent smart leader, and they made a very smart and creative Vance into an idiot. Screw the media.

He is without question the best of the four. Light years smarter than the bar flunky and the pride of Chadon state. But he is weird. He’s 39 and looks and acts 59. He provides strange optics. And that’s not good when you’re trying to win a race. He’d be a good vp but he’s a bad candidate and resultantly a bad choice. Throw in comments that will only alienate certain voters and I don’t think he is a candidate for a national election where Dems are the majority

Trump was already President for 4 years and he did zero. He'll be a lame duck after two years and have even less political power than he did in his first term.
Remember when Trump touted his incredible business experience and assembled multiple CEO roundtables to guide economic policy when he came into office? That lasted about 6 months and then all the CEOs quit the group en masse, as he's such a joke.
This is campaign season bullshit. But there are suckers that buy into this smoke and mirrors ever cycle.

Vance comes dangerously close to some very good points here and there, though he mostly lands around the periphery instead of hitting the bullseye. He might be the smartest of the four, but he's also not quite as smart as he appears when compared to, let's be honest, a C-plus group at best.

I’m all for trying this again. The inefficiency problem goes way beyond the job description of the GAO. Do we really need all the departments and agencies we have now?
