this is undeniably a gotcha:
1) NFL source "involved with the investigation" leaks false info that "11 of 12 patriots footballs were 2 psi under" (truth: 0 of 11 were 2 psi under)
2) a full-blown media firestorm results
3) NFL does not correct the false information for 3.5 months, and doesn't even tell the PATRIOTS the true values (11 footballs were 1.01 psi down, vs. 0.98-1.22 psi drop caused by mother nature)

If this goes to an actual trial and does not get reduced to ZERO games, I will use an avatar of your choice from October 1 through the Super Bowl.

Deal?
The rule book makes no allowance for mother nature. You play according to the rules ..
3 of 4 Colts footballs were below 12.5 psi even after 12 minutes in a warm room at halftime, by the gauge that they chose to believe (the low-reading gauge).
Why did the Colts not play according to the rules?
It is illegal to pressure test a football during the game if you are not an NFL official.
The Colts did.
Why did the Colts not play according to the rules?
NFL’s “Policy on Integrity of the Game & Enforcement of Competitive Rules.”
“Confidentiality must be maintained when conducting an investigation and when reporting information to the League office. Clubs are required to take appropriate steps to ensure that information concerning actual or suspected violations is reported and remains strictly confidential, and that no inadvertent or intentional disclosures are made to unauthorized persons. The effectiveness of this policy rests largely on adherence to maintaining the confidentiality of information; therefore, any unauthorized disclosures will be thoroughly investigated and will result in disciplinary action where appropriate.”
The Colts violated the very clear rule by contacting Bob Kravitz.
Why did the Colts not play according to the rules?
I'm here for the pics.I'm not seeing any fines or punishment being levied against the Colts.

Is this the creative happy ending you were looking for?You guys! (and Peach!) Stop stealing my bit! *vbg*
I suggest everyone still posting in this thread read this book pronto!
Is that like flogging the dolphin?
The OTF collectively could write a book on that.
Why do you keep doing this to yourself? You are never right about anything. If this goes to an actual trial and does not get reduced to ZERO games, I will use an avatar of your choice from October 1 through the Super Bowl.

He's right about plenty and probably at a greater percentage than you are. It's just that he's filled with the religious fervor that is Football. And, like all religions, it makes an idiot of many of you. Too many. Why do you keep doing this to yourself? You are never right about anything.

Is anyone willing to take me up on the bet? No.

Please don't come here with that. That's weaker than the deflator=dieting excuse.pronouced "Koooooonnnz"

I really don't want to blacklist OS forever, but I don't want to keep deleting his naughty words. Compromise solution: OS retains his posting privileges, but is banned from posting in this thread.

No, I love this thread. Nothing I can say can point out the ridiculousness of football fandom than this thread. The more ridiculous it gets, the more transparent the stupid becomes. It's your goal to completely send him off the deep end, isn't it? I mean, it was fun at first, but now it's just sad.
By agreeing to it, he gets to prove he's not a puss to an anonymous internet message board...
I saw it among the dead horse meme images.Where did you find that? I walk by it several times a week.
Well nothing is permanent. If he's still banned when the Brady appeal ruling comes down, I'll make sure to take off his shackles.Where is the fun in that? Sure, we get all the great memes, but none of the batshit craziness to laugh at.
He should just agree to take a ban for the period of Tommy's suspension. That's a win-win. By agreeing to it, he gets to prove he's not a puss to an anonymous internet message board (which apparently matters to him) and can play it off as an act of solidarity with his Cheatriots. And we get to be rid of him for a couple of weeks, perhaps up to a month during football season - a time of year when he is nothing but an insufferable pain in the ass.
It'll be a month. There is no chance that Kraft or Brady will take this to court as discovery and the real investigation would reveal the true extent of their cheating. Right now, somebody is dying to respond if only he could. Good times.Where is the fun in that? Sure, we get all the great memes, but none of the batshit craziness to laugh at.

Correct. The only way Brady goes to court is if:It'll be a month. There is no chance that Kraft or Brady will take this to court as discovery and the real investigation would reveal the true extent of their cheating. Right now, somebody is dying to respond if only he could. Good times.

I don't care about the football. I just want him to stop trying to sneak the c-word into his posts. That's mean. Not that I have a dead horse in the race but I hate gang rape and tend to side on the side of the rapee over the rapers, only because, well, I don't know why. But, I don't think he should be banned at all. Just my two cents. Not telling you how to do your job, Just sayin'
Especially considering what Fender and others have posted on this board and he (they) was (were) never banned. ie racist remarks about Africans is far less of an offense than OS's religious like fervor for his football God and Idols. I don't find words offensive, I find thoughts offensive and thoughts about sports the very least as the importance sports has is very little. It's just a dumb game.
Anyways..
Again, in a sense, football, holds more importance than the actual important things. Even here.
Correct. The only way Brady goes to court is if:
1) he's actually 100% innocent.
2) he can prove it. And,
3) he hasn't doesn't anything else wrong (like have an affair or something) that might come out in discovery (e.g., from phone records).
