The Boise State coach said today that he knows for sure, 13 of his players are being illegally recruited to get into the portal and be paid. He said there may be more. I am sure this happens everywhere with no respect to confirmed dates you can speak to players about the portal. This whole portal thing and NIL is out of control as we all know. At least Coach Cig realizes the college football environment and mentioned that in one of his first interviews.

That is NOT saying that IU is poaching players from other schools before they are allowed to, just college football in general.

Once the schools can pay kids directly, there will be contracts, and uniform contracts will include anti-tampering provisions, which will cut back on that stuff. It won't disappear, but it will happen less when the tampering team can get sued for tortious interference.

Lawyers to the rescue! (said no one, ever)
I'm very curious what the rev share contracts will look like. I hope they're a lot like pro contracts and bring some order to this mess. I'm happy the players are getting paid, but with that comes professionalizing the players' relationships with their employers.

Yeah, it will all be better, in my opinion. No more Emery Express packages from Kentucky.

Not surprising. Before NIL players found cash in their street shoes in their lockers after practice. Remember Petino’s providing girls to recruits or maybe that was allegedly and not proved.

My nephew was refueling the Blackhawk helo where he was a crew member, in DC ... this leer jet taxies in with the orange Tennessee T on it. Out walks Bruce Pearl and the 6 finest women you'd ever see. Once Pearl found out the helo crew was from Indiana he talked to my nephew while he was there. He said they have been on a recruiting trip. I can only assume the girls were handing out Tennessee basketball pamphlets and bottled water possibly. 😂

It was proven that they provided strippers for recruits. Not necessarily proven Pitino knew about it, if I remember correctly.

But he definitely knew about the lady he shagged in a Sizzler booth at closing time.

Okay, it wasn't a sizzler, but the rest is true.

In 1989, at our annual WTTV IU Sports client golf outing dinner Coach Knight went off, big-time, on Kentucky, Eddie Sutton, Joe B. and Adolph and their cheating-ways.... before he was done I think Knight mentioned everything that KY's ever done that was illegal.... Obviously, a long list........ Someone had asked him about the Emery package deal with Chris Mills and that's what got Knight started.... Coach started as a "slow-role" but the more he talked about UK the more pissed he got!! The outing was held down at The Point and I thought Knight was going to turnover a table before he was through talking!!.... Okay, it wasn't quite that bad, but it was something to see him at his finest!! The IU sports clients always got their monies worth!!

I thought Sean Kemp got a package as well.

I thought Sean Kemp got a package as well.
After Sean Kemp's recruiting visit to Lexington, he shows up at high school Monday driving a brand new car. Coach and Principal asked where he got the car since his mom, single parent, didn't have a way to buy a new car. Sean replied "my uncle gave it to me".

The recruits likely needed the water bottles to rehydrate after the visit.

I guess it doesn't matter if this involves traditional Scholarship recruiting. NIL Money, or Transfer Portal Contacts. A lot of these Coaches and programs are living by that old NASCAR principle "If You ain't cheating, You ain't trying."

The fact that it’s still called NIL is an embarrassment. It’s paying players plain & simple. I’m not sure why the whole country decided to use a euphemism
I think sometimes people use names (spin?) that improve the image.
I have always thought that with pro life pro choice. It should be called what it is pro abortion or anti abortion. To me, I think I understand both sides.
A women (or any of us) should be in charge of our own bodies. Smoke or don’t. Drink or don’t. Exercise or don’t. Maybe an analogy would be a diagnosis of an untreatable cancer and you elect no treatment. No one can force you to undergo chemo. It is your life and body, your decision.
I also understand the anti abortion side that feels you are taking away a viable life.
Fortunately I am not important and my opinion is irrelevant.
