It’s Germantown, we might as well mention the old Richmond Inn.LOL, which is just east of Dublin as I said. That 5 mile or so stretch of US 40 has 5 towns (Dublin, Mt Auburn, Cambridge City, Pershing and Pennville), 4 of which aren't particularly discernable from the next unless you live there. Maybe we should just call it the Cambridge City Metro Area heh. But thanks for mentioning Mt Auburn because it reminds me that the Lakeview Restaurant is also good homestyle eats out that way.

Sort of. Nicks stroms aren’t as good. Supposedly the company who supplied all the buns to most restaurants stopped making the hoagie bun. Even in the tri state they aren’t as good at other restaurants. Covid killed a lot of things. John’s Famous Stew on the near SW side of downtown Indy has the Tenderloin Supreme. Breaded tenderloin covered with the hot stew. I cannot explain how is works, but damn is it incredible.You need to hit up Ned's Corner Pub in Kokomo on Thursdays. Baked tenderloin smothered in gravy.

If you're interested in franchising something, check out Sgt Peppers in Martinsville. I was in discussions with the owner probably 30 years ago, when it was just in a former gas station on 39 in Martinsville. I think it would have killed in Kokomo, which now has 4 chicken locations on the same corner. lol (Chik-fil-a is in the process currenty. Caine's, Popeye's, and KFC are already there). Bonus: White Castle is also there.I like Lennie's for stromboli.

Dig tenderloins, but often have the guys at Cloverleaf South hook me up with a CFS sandwich...CFS on double buttered hamburger bun or texas toast, lettuce, tomato, and mayo.
First time I ordered one off the menu the waitress and cooks were perplexed. Next time she said she was making them at home for her kids, and so were the cooks.
I kick around the idea of trying to franchise the Dallas/Austin "Taco Joint" in that old gas station on Walnut across from the McD's heading outta town...but location may be too remote...

Yeah, we used to go there pretty regularly and have since found better options. I don't think we've been in 7 or 8 years. I used to get one of those 4 egg omelets and they would let you sub sausage for the bread at no charge.While in Indiana Sunday, I decided to go to Le Peep in Speedway.
Come to find out, evidently some company called Maple took over all the Le Peep's. And boy, does it suck now. The menu has very few combo meals and their gravy is too thin and has little sausage.
Anyway, the old Le Peep had the 18 Wheeler. They changed the name, but it had french toast, eggs, sausage (or bacon) and breakfast potatoes. Then throw in a gooey bun. That's about the best breakfast around - or used to be.
Ive always wanted to try and English/Irish breakfast. Found a website that sells English breakfast meats. Can get the rest from Amazon.

Has it reopened since the fire in December?It's been a hot minute since I've been out that way, but Mann's Grill across from the old Chrysler Foundry on the corner of Tibbs and Morris was one of the best little greasy spoon spots in the state. Ridiculously large portions of comfort food classics and the "Big Mann's Breakfast" was so big it was served up on several plates. Never had a bad meal there, it was all like eating a dish your gran made.
