Speaking of breakfast, I had smoked pork chops, over easy eggs, fried potatoes and toast this morning and it was excellent. I'm baching it while my wife visits our daughter.

I went once and never went back. And I lived close. Street that the library was on
They had the best sausage in town, by far. I don't know what it was that made it great.
The mozzarella salad was the other thing. 90% cheese, 10% green stuff, the magic ratio.

As I understand it, when the Webbs bought the Pizzaria they got custody of the strom recipe.
Sort of. Nicks stroms aren’t as good. Supposedly the company who supplied all the buns to most restaurants stopped making the hoagie bun. Even in the tri state they aren’t as good at other restaurants. Covid killed a lot of things. I remember rocky rice tried out and compared other vendors and really never found a replacement.
Best times as a kid, their biscuits and gravy, the tots and a drink for like $3
I stopped getting a strom at Nick's several years ago. They just sucked. Nothing like the old days (but what is?).
I love some bangers and mash. My ancestry is 99% Irish/English so I guess I was born with a taste for it.
Back when I was a kid in the 70's, the little Pasquale's Pizza shop on the corner of Webster and East Washington Street in Irvington had a good stromboli.
I like Lennie's for stromboli.

Dig tenderloins, but often have the guys at Cloverleaf South hook me up with a CFS sandwich...CFS on double buttered hamburger bun or texas toast, lettuce, tomato, and mayo.
First time I ordered one off the menu the waitress and cooks were perplexed. Next time she said she was making them at home for her kids, and so were the cooks.
I kick around the idea of trying to franchise the Dallas/Austin "Taco Joint" in that old gas station on Walnut across from the McD's heading outta town...but location may be too remote...

John’s Famous Stew on the near SW side of downtown Indy has the Tenderloin Supreme. Breaded tenderloin covered with the hot stew. I cannot explain how is works, but damn is it incredible.
If you're interested in franchising something, check out Sgt Peppers in Martinsville. I was in discussions with the owner probably 30 years ago, when it was just in a former gas station on 39 in Martinsville. I think it would have killed in Kokomo, which now has 4 chicken locations on the same corner. lol (Chik-fil-a is in the process currenty. Caine's, Popeye's, and KFC are already there). Bonus: White Castle is also there.
They're in a newer building kind of in the same parking lot as the Taco Bell on 39/67. Fried chicken and fried potatoes.
We used to stop in the old place and get take out for tailgating, back when games were at noon or 1pm.
While in Indiana Sunday, I decided to go to Le Peep in Speedway.
Come to find out, evidently some company called Maple took over all the Le Peep's. And boy, does it suck now. The menu has very few combo meals and their gravy is too thin and has little sausage.
Anyway, the old Le Peep had the 18 Wheeler. They changed the name, but it had french toast, eggs, sausage (or bacon) and breakfast potatoes. Then throw in a gooey bun. That's about the best breakfast around - or used to be.
Yeah, we used to go there pretty regularly and have since found better options. I don't think we've been in 7 or 8 years. I used to get one of those 4 egg omelets and they would let you sub sausage for the bread at no charge.
Ive always wanted to try and English/Irish breakfast. Found a website that sells English breakfast meats. Can get the rest from Amazon.

I'm not a fan of beans on toast, but I can get behind everything else.

Just once, I want to sit down and gourge myself then watch movies.
Nah, man. That's a campfire meal where you're up before dawn, eat that and then paddle 25-30 miles with some portages.
It's been a hot minute since I've been out that way, but Mann's Grill across from the old Chrysler Foundry on the corner of Tibbs and Morris was one of the best little greasy spoon spots in the state. Ridiculously large portions of comfort food classics and the "Big Mann's Breakfast" was so big it was served up on several plates. Never had a bad meal there, it was all like eating a dish your gran made.
I'm not sure. It would be a shame if that's them done.
TBH I didn't even remember about the fire until I googled them and saw it. Getting old sucks.
