As of this morning, 1/1/25, the Big Ten is 4-1 versus the SEC Crybabies in the postseason. OSU beat Tennessee, USC defeated Texas A&M, Illinois beat South Carolina, and Michigan (without its top players on defense) defeated also-ran Alabama. The only B1G loss? Iowa losing by 3 to Mizzou.

At least one more B1G/SEC matchup remaining, assuming Texas takes care of business against Arizona State. They’ll play the winner of OSU/Oregon. Also, PSU will play Georgia if GA beats ND tonight.

Go Big Ten!

There’s just one SEC team remaining and they’ll be eliminated by Ohio State next Friday.

There are games still to be played, but it’s looking more and more like IU’s two losses were to the two best teams in the country.

I wouldn't sleep on Texass, they have a great defense and if Ewers plays well they could beat OSU. OSU is now getting their **** sucked by everyone which is usually a bad thing for college kids.

ND lost to Northern Illinois at home. Northern Illinois finished 6th in the MAC. Maybe the committee should have slotted in a MAC team into one of those playoff spots wasted on those SEC teams.

If the national title game ends up being Ohio St and Notre Dame Indiana's 'nobody schedule' will have included all participants from last year's national championship game and this year's national championship game. If that occurs Coach Cig should bring a bar of palmolive to wash out Kirby's mouth on set the next time ESPN is in town - and then kick dirt on the Golden Retriever as he walks off.

Not saying Texas won’t win but they didn’t beat a current ranked team until the playoffs. Squeaked by Vandy and beat A&M by 10 points. I guess those are quality wins in the eyes of the SEC.

I dream of College Game Day returning to Bloomington and someone in the crowd, behind the ESPN set and within the camera shot, holding up a sign that reads, “Herbstreit Wouldn’t Have Started at Indiana.”

College GameDay will be back in Bloomington on September 20th for the Illinois game.

Need to drown out Herbstreit - with class - every time he speaks (no "Herbstreit sucks!" chants).

I wouldn’t be surprised if we start in the #15-20 range. I’d be pleasantly surprised if it’s above 15. I’d love to be completely wrong and it’s close to, or in the top 10, but I doubt it will be that high with all the starters we’re losing. I think we’re losing 7 or 8 offensive starters.

Isn’t the Game Day site typically announced only 5 or 6 days prior? Why do you say we’ll have it on Sep 20?

Herbstreit’s problem isn’t a lack of class, skill or intelligence. He’s got those traits and, in my opinion, he has a history of being very good at his job. The problem is two-fold. First, his ego has grown exponentially. I don’t know if it’s his Amazon Prime contract or what, but he no longer demonstrates even a trace of humility. Next, he’s become beholden to the SEC, likely due to his state of residence (Tennessee) and, more importantly, the big contract his employer (Disney/ABC/ESPN) has with the SEC.

McAfee is the best thing about Game Day now. Saban’s good for insomnia, Davis is mostly the setup guy and reading the teleprompter, and Howard is ok but not great. The dog whisperer sees himself as host of “The Kirk Herbstreit Show.” It’s all about him.

I get defending and believing in your guys but there is a time to just be quiet and be gracious. Especially when 1) you weren't even next in line to get in, 2) after tie-breakers you finished eighth in your conference, 3) your conference is 1-4 in the post-season against that other conference 'with a couple of teams', 4) that other conference has two teams left compared to your conference's one 5) that other conference is the defending national champion, 6) the team you are implicitly singling out beat Michigan who beat Alabama, the team that actually was next in line, and 7) the team you are implicitly singling out put up more of a fight in Columbus than Tennessee did and they put up more of a fight in South Bend than Georgia did at a neutral and geographically advantageous location.
In summary sour grapes Kiffin just looks like an ass. 🫏

I don't know...; "Herby Sux" has sort of a ring to it... I don't think your average sleep deprived, semi-inebriated freshman will be able to retain much beyond a two syllable chant... Maybe I'm underestimating them... but I doubt it...🍺

Actually, I think "S-E-C Herbie" might be our best bet... To the point without being auto-bleepable... 😎
