"Indiana’s ceiling is pretty high if they can improve shooting and Jackson-Davis is a star. It’s not out of the question they are a top-six Big Ten team. Conversely, I think the more likely scenario is that the shooting woes continue while the offense sputters and another frustrating season in Bloomington may put Archie Miller’s job in danger."

I'll let you look up yourselves where he projected IU to be.

I honestly can’t believe so many can’t see the train is already off the tracks here. It’s completely baffling. We’re reliving John Groce 2.0 here and all I read is sunshine and rainbows.

No problem with his prediction, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I am of the opinion that IU will make more 3’s on less attempts this year, this’s being much more efficient. If there’s one positive to Romeo and Juwan leaving, it’s that they were by far and away our worst volume shooters.

Another thing the author is completely neglecting is the resurgence of a competent front court. Plenty of talent with some actual size and depth that Archie hasn’t enjoyed while in Bloomington.

Would be shocked if IU finishes 12th in the B10.

Our football will not be 12th either.
I hope not.
I want IU to make a bowl.
I saw 2019 IU football predictions in magazines and online at 4-8, 1 B1G win vs Rutgers, no bowl. I saw preseason national rankings and only Rutgers and Illinois were ranked lower than IU in the B1G, that would put IU at 12th in the B1G in football. IU football needs to defeat Rutgers, Maryland, and Purdue to be bowl eligible I hope. There are 5 almost guaranteed losses on the IU football schedule The OSU, Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Nebraska. And 1 more loss very likely, Northwestern. That would mean 6-6 is likely the best IU can realistically hope to be. And that includes defeating both Maryland and Purdue who they most likely will be underdogs against.

I think your game by game eval is good. It is crucial, and not guaranteed, that we are 3-0 in non con games. Also Mary and Rut. If we are at least 4-1 with those 5 I think we are in good shape. A key is, can we win some underdog games. I would like one win out of PSU, OSU, MSU, and Umich. And one win out of Nebraska, Northwester, and Purdue. I think 6-7 wins is possible.

I hope it puts Fred’s job in danger.

Zero chance IU’s football or basketball results endanger his job. Look at the results in the decade since he was hired. IU is thrilled with his performance, and the results of the two revenue generating sports are irrelevant to that evaluation.

How can Basketball and Football be irrelevant?

Remember, we lost the worst three point shooter in IU history. Juwan was putrid as well.
Yes but we lost our two leading scorers. I am just not pumping sunshine like i did last year at this time. No idea who our main scorers will even be. We could finish 12th or maybe 6th. No idea.
