Big day for the B10 today

I was disappointed to see MI advance, and just playing the odds some of these 5 will move on. It won’t make me happy.

Misery loves company?

I have friends that went to each of these schools, and maybe that plays into it. I live in a big metropolitan area, which is loaded with B10 grads. Everywhere I turn I see car stickers, sweatshirts, hats, etc from all of these schools. Probably the one school of these that seems (to me) the least represented is PU. Maybe it’s the ugly colors? In fact, I only know 1 person that went to PU and he doesn’t follow sports, he’s just an engineer/ nerd/musician.

I’m rooting against the Big today, but strangely enough the least of the evils seems to be the Boilers……at least to me . Maybe it’s the “get off my lawn” attitude but I find it much easier to root against a team when I’m surrounded by their fans.

That regional has opened completely wide for Purdue. But, in all probability, they’ll find a Purdue way to eff it all up.

No doubt, The stars do seem to be aligning for them, the Texas game will be interesting.

if Painter is going to finally eclipse his elite eight, seems this is as good of a chance as he will ever see.

In sure he will see other good chances as he continues to bring in talent, but I'd agree, the bracket has opened up nicely for Purdue. If they don't win tonight, Purdue was never the team we thought they were.

Should come down to their commitment to playing D.

I think PU will have future teams that may be better suited to win it all, but as far as just getting to the final four, as you said, the bracket has opened up.

Won't they have to go through UNC or UCLA? Those teams might be too athletic for them.

Nobody wins the NC without a break or two. This shattered region is among the biggest breaks I have ever seen a team get. It would be an epic choke if they didn't get to the FF.

In other scenarios, I’d root against MSU and PU but I dislike their opponents more. Also usually root against OSU but I’d like to see a Mich v OSU in the sweet 16.

I'd go with 2018 south region. But if Purdue doesn't make the elite 8, they were as good as we thought.

I think purdue loses today.

Texas is very good at guard with Carr and Jones. Purdue will need to get everyone involved, like they have all season, to win.

Purdue doesn't play the kind of D needed to win it all. They're a bad shooting game away from an L. They may get to a FF, but I'd be surprised ...and I'd be amazed if they got to the title game.

Michigan has been the best B1G tourney team the past decade. This is their 5th straight Sweet 16 and they’ve been to the Final Four a couple times, too. I hate it, but they’re the best the B1G has to offer.

They play a style that translates well to the tournament.

Because they play a style that suits the tourney and has the athletes to do it. Purdue does not.

Actually this yr Purdue isn't playing normal Purdue style
Painter has really changed offensively over the past couple years. Imo, he's realized his style wasn't sustainable in March and adjusted. His playbook went from the motion to him hiring an offensive and defensive coordinator and having an extensive playbook.

although, this year Purdue is I’ll suited for the tournament, albeit for different reasons than past years.

in past years it’s been an over reliance on 3 point shooting and/or too physical a defense that they could only get away with in the BT.

this year it’s a complete lack of defense

Their D has gotten better and actually wasn't terrible in the big ten tourney. We will see if it's enough. Need the offense to show up today though.

This team will lose in the tournament because of turnovers before D. Why they lost to Iowa.
