The Big 12 is in talks with Allstate for conference naming rights to the tune of $30 -$50 million a year. Conference USA is also looking at this too. These seems weird, but not surprising. I'm actually a little surprised that this hasn't happened. I figure if the Big 12 is talking that much money, the B1G could command much more. Still, it'll be weird if it happens. Just one more step toward college athletics being unrecognizable from even 5-10 years ago.

Sad. More corporatization of college athletics.

But on another note, I'm glad the Big 12 has seemingly survived the realignment for now. The new conference should actually be quite fun.

They'll continue to be the best basketball conference as nobody can match Houston, Kansas, Arizona, Baylor at the top of the conference year in and year out. Some good depth too.

The football will obviously be inferior to the Big 10 & SEC, but it will be fun. A lot of air raid teams that like to chuck it around. Deion and Colorado. Utah, UCF and BYU are solid adds that create quality depth.
