Bidunga

I like the way he played in the WVU v. Kansas game. Two months into his college career? Promising.

But yeah, he's raw and without a shot, gets by on size and athleticism. But he's coordinated and can play inside. I don't think he's undersized for inside since he moves so well. Solid body.

If he stays three years at a mil or two a year and develops a power forwards jumper... After 5-7 million, we may have a great player.

I'd still love to have him.

Is he worth 2-3 million? Not sure.

I figure Auburn, because not many days ago Bidunga affirmed he was staying. Then all of a sudden portals. I figure Bruce Pearl is more likely to have his guys back door negotiating, pushing, tampering, than DeVries.

But once he's in... Hope he's coming here. At the right price.
Tampering? Is that against the rules?

Why so in on Flory? You his handler? I mean Kansas had a better season than us but they weren’t great this year. For some reason he got benched and I’d assume he wasn’t a fit next to another big. Are you ready to feature him as an undersized big? I’d take the kid from WVU over him. Bigger rim runner m. Does everything Flory does.
You take him as a rim protector and rebounder.

And maybe he develops more of an offensive game. No one can say.
His offensive game isn’t terrible in the kick and roll and running the floor. He just isn’t a perimeter player at all and isn’t a back to the basket offensive player

I see Bidunga as a role player who will get 2-5 minutes per game. As mentioned...he is not a complete player offensively. He is a role player, mostly on defense. He has quickness and hops for sure. But so do a bunch of interior players who can shoot the ball from 15 feet out regularly. Is there room on the roster for him? Sure....but not as an alternative to an interior player who can shoot the ball inside or out.

lol what?

I wish they would read the trends and note that high level fives cost too much and are currently the least impactful position in basketball.

Spend the big money on high level guards, and triple threat combos.
He is probably a great kid with a lot of potential, but he would require a lot of NIL without a body of work to back it up. Rumor is CDD's PF from WVU is interested and he may already have another productive big ready to sign. I believe we can have 15 scholarships this year, so a Langdon Hatton type would be a good addition but not a third player to compete for one spot. I am assuming a line up with his son and another player like Goode or Sisley and two guards.

I want all types of guards. Long guards, lightning quick guards, 3 point specialists and fire plugs that can muscle their way to the basket. Better yet, 6 guards that are all of the above.

For what it’s worth, I know more than a few KU fans and they had their pitchforks out all season over Dickinson playing in front of Flory.

They’re not happy that he’s in the portal.

He doesn’t do everything Flory does. Flory is a real rim protector and defensive presence. Averaged 1.6 blocks a game compared to .4 for Hansberry. Also, you said in another post Hansberry is 3” taller but Floey is listed at 6’9 and Hansberry 6’8

I meant Andre. He’s 1.4,blocks and is a tick over 6’11. He’s their 4 out center which is how flory will be used(probably)doesn’t matter m. He’s out of eligibility. I’m just saying there are guys who do the things he does.

My bad. I don’t remember Andre but I didn’t watch much of WVU. His stats are similar but a little lower than Bidunga across the board. He was a fifth year senior and Bidunga a freshman. Would also point out that Flory grew up a soccer player and picked up basketball when he came over to Kokomo. He’s a guy that has improved a lot throughout his high school career. I don’t know what our NIL budget is so can’t say how we should allocate those funds, but I’d be thrilled with Flory as our starting center next year.
