I swear when I was a much younger man I had a card or something which told me when to sit and when to kneel in Church. Catholic so, you know, it was a big deal.

In early 1972, my dad finagled singing God Bless America for Richard Nixon at an event. The advance staff told him he would have to have the lyrics with him; he laughed and said he knew them, he didn't need a copy of the lyrics. They told him yes, he did need to have a copy of the lyrics. Evidently Robert Goulet had forgotten the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner or some such in a similar situation with Nixon, and they weren't going to let it happen again.
