Better coaching job

I did not flip on Archie because there was no reason to. It would be stupid to blame him for the roster he inherited and to give up before he had his second recruiting class on campus. Instead, I knew Archie is a good coach. I wanted to see if he could pull the team together and coach his way out of a bad situation. I would say people were correct in not rushing to judgement.

The bench Archie was left with during this season was scary. People are idiots if they are looking at a small snapshot and not seeing the bigger picture, I don't agree with every lineup or move any coach makes. I have like most of what Archie has done and I am prepared to give him the time he needs to get his work done.

Yep. We are young and injuries to key players left us with a very thin bench for the middle third of the season. They played the hand they were dealt, had some soul crushing losses, thrilling upsets considering where the team was injury/personnel wise, and a play here and there and we turn around half of those close losses (6 by 6 points or less). This was not going to be a great team, regardless of it's overall health. But it could've easily been a scrappy, hang tough 20-22 win team with a fewer players lost to injury.

Archie is just getting his feet wet in the jump from mid major success to a power 5 conference. That learning curve can be brutal sometimes, but it's obvious that he has all the tools to be a damned fine coach @ this level as well. He just needs time.

Injuries or no, the mindset of this team and lack of offense from a month ago to now is shocking even against an inferior team. After 2 emotional wins, playing on the road would classified as a trap game yet they came thru and killed UI. W/o much sr leadership, I credit this to the staff keeping them focused

So, which scenario would be an example of better coaching- keeping the team in line and have a steady year or have the team go so far down like they were, causing many to say CAM has lost the team and needs to be fired, only to turn it around in such dramatic fashion? Just curious as to what the board thinks
Umm, I hope the IU BBall program never LOSES 11-12 games again, I'm pretty sure I could cheer them on to such results for 3.5 million, I'm guessing I'd be really pumped up for that. I'd put Clappy and Arch to shame , at a discount for losing.

I'd have jet12 kiss your a@s if you were half as good as I was at basketball. So, save me the nonsense of your basketball superiority.

I'd first figure out how to form complete sentences, before claiming Archie Miller is a hall of fame coach, after beating a 11-19 Illinois team on the road.
first, hooked on phonics. then, reading comprehension

As these players mature with experience and as Archie fills the team with his recruits this shouldn’t happen again. Plus injuries hurt. Now, to answer the question, keeping the team in line improving all season.
