IU's 1945 football team was 9-0-1 -- the tie coming in the second game. So, after five games IU was 4-0-1.
The 1967-68 Rose Bowl team finished 9-2 -- but had the best start in IU history st 8-0 (then L at Minnesota, W over Purdue, L to USC)
