I was hoping we'd be able to put an exclamation point on that with a W over Notre Dame in the Quick Lane Bowl but the jello Kellys couldn't even play well enough to back into a Bowl.

1967, although Purdue and Notre Dame would have clearly went to bowls those years (New Year's Day bowl games) if the modern system existed.
