I've probably had more than my share of criticisms over the years. But it's not like I like it. My whole family went to IU. Generations. It's our home state school. I grew up with it. It's forged bonds for me with friends and family and been a common point of interest for so many moments and good things. I have family there now and they're trying to make the most of that experience. And it's easy to criticize. Things are always easier from the outside. Having partial information doesn't give us full insights into the appropriateness of every decision and development.

It's because it's mattered so much to me that the endless, observable disappointments, poor executions, failures, embarrassments and misjudgments over the past three decades are so frustrating. I catalogued a few of them in a couple posts from years ago that I return to every so often. It's just so unimpressive and so disappointing.

It looks like they're in the crapper yet again. Folks piled on last night. That can look like delight in others' failure. It's not. I hate that legends are made lesser. That dreams from youth of something better are made base and cheap. I hate it.
