Beating MIchigan and Washington in the same season after they played for the national championship?

I am not sure that it has occurred ever, but I am wondering if it has ever happened that a school (in this case the Hoosiers) has beaten the two schools who played for the national championship during the very next season? What an accomplishment when you think about it!!!!! Go Hoosiers!!!

The likelihood of it happening would be slim if I had to guess, especially before the 4-team playoff. It’d have to be someone from your conference and then so happen to have the other in non-conference. We lucked out because of conference realignment.

I don't know if lucking out is exactly right. We took advantage of an opportunity that rarely comes down the pike. Regardless, it is really something to be proud of and just may never happen again.
