Beard

Hiring Chris Beard would require Dolson (and whoever else signs off on it) to put their careers at risk. Hire a coach who loses and you'll not likely get fired. Hire a coach with a history of DV and booze and it happens again? Your career is tanked.

It's easy for a bunch of anonymous posters here to be willing to stick their collective necks out. Nothing happens to them. But Dolson would be crucified if he hired Beard and there were issues. Why would he do that? It's not like Beard is that effing special. Every NCAA title up to now has been won by someone not named Chris Beard. How many more titles will be won by Not Chris Beard.

Hard pass. He eff'd up. His fault.

OMG let’s crucify everyone who is a drunk. I bet 90% of the idiots on this board would be crucified. If he’s getting help for it or it’s in the past get over it.
I love you guys! Let’s hire a drunk! Let’s hire a woman abuser. Let’s hire and absolute asshole. So we can all bitch again and complain when the inevitable happens.

You’re an idiot. She said he didn’t strangle her so I guess you not being there knows it all. Almighty jackass tell us how it happened.
Everyone please read this so you can stop pretending it didn’t happen. She didn’t recant. She had her lawyer use lawyer speak to get out of proesecuting. I’d like to check her bank account after that too. Or maybe she just didn’t want to ruin his life.

I spent some time reading about Beard's domestic violence case. I get that charges were dropped and she changed her statement stating she wasn't choked during the attack but there was physical evidence of an attack. There a lot's of motivations that could have led her to change her statement. I believe in second chances and I believe he is getting one. While I think he would win big at IU, spouse abuse isn't something that I can look past. He is a pass for me. I would love for someone to change my mind but I really don't want someone with that baggage representing IU. I want to win but not that bad I guess
I think this is exactly how Indiana will view this situation. I do not think Beard is a viable candidate at this time. Maybe the next time around.

I would think his butt is hanging out over this decision anyway. You take out the people that don’t want it and the people that have something in their past then what’s left has considerable risk. Maybe Cig will provide enough cover that he can weather another flop. Archie was an example of looking good on paper but not panning out.

Keep in mind who you're talking to. Foreplay likely involves something like "Hey Honey, it's the first Saturday of the month again..."
Using this board as the compass .. I'm betting he tells her all about which pizza he likes, Moody Bible College* and his dad's cat ..

*DRINK!

most successful coaches are assholes but let’s hire a nice guy for Zeke!!
I know you have trouble reading , but maybe if you try again, you’ll see domestic violence and alcoholism in there too. I have faith, I purposely left out big words for you.

Who would you hire?

The same piece that's been linked on here at least 3x? Written by an AR sportswriter, who might have the same views of DV that you and some others seem to have here, or was told by AR folks to tamp down Beard talk (Jim just admited IU staff put pressure on him not to post his story last year, so it does happen), or caught wind Calipari was in discussions and wanted to mute Beard talk? No idea if any of those scenarios are true, but they are as plausible as the stuff you've been making up (wasn't it you last week who told me she had bite marks on her face?). Show me this writers forensic experience with the bruising and trauma being choked with an arm vs a hand makes and then we can talk. That was a hatchet piece, and just because he says something that doesn't mean it was true. She did recant, at the minimum the part of the story he says, but she also didn't say the rest was true, and she also said she wouldn't dispute that CB was acting in self-defense. Somehow the writer left that part out.

And, I'm not saying hire Beard, I'm saying it would be incompetent not to consider him and hire an investigator to check out his history and see if there are other issues of DV, or alcolohism and violence in general. If he's an alcoholic and an abuser, there will be several incidents to find.

I’m not sure. Might have gotten where the bite marks and the bruises were mixed up. Thers another thread that detail the police reports of her numerous injuries. What have I been making up? This anrticle explains quite well how the lawyer speak was used so that she could deny the strangulation part plausibly. Technical terms because of the placement of his hands, so that the felony part was an overcharge. Again, if people want to ignore the gigantic red flags of the man being a woman beater and likely an alcoholic, good for you. But you’re going to be disappointed when IU doesn’t even consider him. No one, with any inside knowledge or sports journalists, seem to think he is on any of the lists, including the guy that runs this site.
Do you not wonder why he didn’t fight Texas? Do you not wonder why he left without his five million?
My and others views on domestic violence? What exactly are those? Besides the fact that they are wrong? Oh also, saying you won’t dispute something is NOT the same as saying it’s not true. Again, more lawyer speak. It’s fine if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don’t.

As was discussed what did she do to him. There are factors to be considered. I have never hit my wife or bit her. But she has not attacked me either.
Hold on preacher. Are you saying you might tag your woman? Well I guess you must have missed the part about turning the other cheek?

as a miserable long-suffering Bears fan, I watched yesterday with literally no emotional involvement whatsoever.
I did hear the Eagles fans rain boo birds down on Taylor. Gotta love Philly fans....they are some salty folks (although probably in better moods today).

I have no issues with Reid, he's a good coach for sure. Mahomes played like he bet a half mil on the Eagles.

Philly defense looked like the 85 Bears yesterday. KC had no chance. Game was over half way through the 2nd quarter.

I had Barkley and J Chase on my ff team this year. Was a good season.
When Reid left Philly I hoped he ended up at a team well to the south of KC but wow he has had so much misery in his personal life. One OD death and one horrific DUI with his sons. It may have worked out much better if he left Philly earlier.

Oh yeah, I remember now that your KC/Swift comments included comments about Chief”s representation on your FF team last season. :)
