Beard

Yes and a wide variance in public opinion and thus the court is the final arbiter.
May be the final arbiter but the court of public opinion is very influential. Guy is a great coach but bringing him in with those allegations seem to be too much for a school which values social issues - especially an allegation of strangulation against a female.

I agree that many people form an opinion based on their beliefs no matter the relevant facts. I am pointing out that a prosecutor in an administration that highly values women’s issues had access to all the evidence and stated he couldn’t reasonably prosecute.

Yea Beard is the only coach out there.
He’s not the only one out there. The non coaching social stuff that leads to “we can’t hire him at IU” gets real old.

Cig cusses like a sailor. I am glad the IU social police didn’t get a chance to veto his hire.

Well if you want a choir boy…good luck
I just want Woody gone. If we get comfortable with Beard fine. I don’t think IU goes that route and it’s not the end of the world. There are like 20 coaches that would work here, and none of them come with a background of assault and bite marks, fair or unfair that stuff is out there.

All we need is someone who knows modern bball and can coach. They show up with their whole staff and we give them the mega NIL. Boom we’re good.

Yeah, he'd be like 85.

But what's your point? The world has evolved over the last 50 years or so, and for the better.
Who says it’s for the better? Take a stroll past Peoples Park. Well maybe not stroll, better stay in your car and keep moving. That’s not better than when I graduated in 1980.

We used to scoff at coaches who paid players, probably not smart and we never played that game pre-NIL. In the NIL era that is no longer an issue. I’m not worried — Scott will have many options and he has a good chance to get it right.

Your last paragraph says it all. That must be near impossible because we’ve failed every time since Brand fired Knight.

The coach we could have all gotten onboard with passed away 2 months ago on the operating room table (or soon thereafter) down in South Florida. He would have been a perfect choice.
I really have no idea what the AD/BOT will come up with.

Yes because iu has been soooo good at hiring coaches since RMK

If Scott is allowed, I am positive Scott will get it right.

When is the last time you strolled through People's Park? There are normally about 3 people there. You may have your parks confused.

My favorite thing about NIL is fans not being able to make the excuse that everyone else is cheating.

I drive by multiple times most weeks. I’ve never seen only 3 people. Maybe the weeks coming up since it’s cold.

Talk to business owners in the area about the challenges of doing business near the park.

Until they can. Literally just happened with football.

You should give up and go cheer for Purdue.
Different sports and different evaluations. Dolson hit gold by hiring a 63 year old from a low major. Cig wasn’t on any high major radars. Can he do it again with basketball? Idk

I didn’t mention that. But it’s a park usually empty. Seminary is worse one but they’re harmless.

Wrong. No reason he can’t. Bball is an easier hire. We have the big resources, we just need someone who can use them effectively.

If you don’t think we can hire a good coach, give up, you’re not really an IU fan anyway.

Bull crap..IU bball decision room is just bad. Bad culture and bad leadership across the board

The concept of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ applies in a court of law, not in the court of public opinion. That legal principle doesn’t mean we, as individuals, can’t form opinions based on the available evidence, especially when the evidence includes police-documented injuries and an initial report consistent with assault.
What if she attacked him first?
