Because I’m a bit of a stat nerd, I subscribed to Evan Miya to track this stuff. What we’re seeing with our eyes is proven out in the numbers. It’s very early (and the B10 may demand Ballo/Reneau combos (see Michigan)), but so far it’s a significant drop-off, Ballo/Reneau isn’t working all that well.
Goode stretches the D for the 1-in/4-out thing that lets both go to work. And also frees up lanes for guards. Also, not surprising, Galloway > Carlyle. It’s really not been close there.
Of the seven five-man lineups with 15 possessions or more, Woody is leaning on three of his three least effective. Of ALL the lineups that have seen the floor (50+ total), Woody’s starters fave (by far) is really middling and way down the list of effective lineups (Ballo/Carlyle/Mgbako/Reneau/Rice).
Looking at specific combos, Ballo/Goode/Galloway lineups are performing tops. And, oddly enough, Leal/Tucker combos are showing promise.
