Have never been to an away game but going to the Wake Forest game next month. Want to sit in the IU section so is it best to buy tickets from IU, from Wake Forest, or wait and buy them on game day?

And second, is there any type of tail gate we can join? Have some Wake friends but would rather not tailgate with the Black and Gold.

I'd call the IU ticket office and fast!! Away games are scary and a place like Wake Forest you might want to be "safe in numbers". Good luck and always remember... Travel is safer in numbers!!!!

Away games are no threat to the ordinary fan unless you run into an unruly group of opposing fans who are looking to pick a fight. Or, you are making an ass of yourself and inviting some altercation. I cannot imagine you would even feel threatened in a place like Wake. Been to road games over many years and am planning on making a solo trip to Winston Salem myself largely because my family thinks I'm nuts to drive 9 hours to watch IU football. You can get on any number of ticket sites and find tickets at BB&T Field all over the place in the middle of the field. I wouldn't be concerned in the least about safety.

You may be able to get cheaper tickets at Wake, but I'd get them through IU if you want to sit in our section. Here is the info on the IU Alumni Tailgate for that game:

Trying to get a large contingent of students to go MSU this year. Do you think the Athletic Office will give us some sort of discount?
