Ramsey was a high floor low ceiling player, he made far better decisions in 2018-2019 than any of our four QBs last year, but Penix in 2019-2020 was easily the best QB we've seen in the Allen era. I have low expectations for Tuttle, he was three years removed from high school last year and still made rookie mistakes, a terrible O-line and playcalling obviously didn't help matters.
I'm still not sure about McCulley, we know he's a great athlete, we know he has as good an arm as anyone in the room(except maybe Bazelak, I still don't know a ton about him), the entirety of his issues last year came from his decision making. That's still a TBD, obviously not a great first sample, but Idk if you could design a worse situation for a college QB to get his first in game reps if you tried. A true freshman non-early enrollee(it was woefully obvious he didn't know the full playbook, which is completely normal for someone who wasn't even with the team until 3 months before the season started), with the worst O-line/OC combo in power five football, and injuries at wide receiver & running back. I'm pretty much throwing out that first year of tape, but even then, it's a lot easier to tear it up in Indiana high school football than in the B1G. We'll see if he ever gets to the point where he is a solid decision maker, but if he does he has the skillset(NOT TALENT) to be a Lamar Jackson type at QB, and given Hiller is still in charge of the O-line, having a dynamic QB that can make decisions under duress would be a huge help to this offense.
