We out rebounded WI, shot a higher % overall and from 3, but they hit the same number of 3s as we did. We had two more assists.
The game was lost, yet again, on TOs and FTs. We only turned it over 9 times, but they only had 4 (a ridiculously low TO number). They were 15-18 FTs to our 6-13.
Just like the Syracuse game, one or two fewer TOs and one or two more FTs, it’s a different story.
I’ve seen this team overcome a ~20 point deficit on the road and lose a ~20 lead on the road. What I haven’t seen is this team get blown out and both losses could have easily been wins save for a few boneheaded plays.
Can we wait until all games have been played before we make a judgment? There is a huge learning curve here going both ways. This particular group of players have never played in games together, they’ve never played games for this coaching staff, and this coaching staff has never coached any of these players in a game before this season. They’re all learning on the fly. Yes, we’ve seen some horribly frustrating plays and been disappointed with the outcome of two games. We’ve also seen this team is capable of when playing focused and under control.
