At least Purdue lost to Michigan State today.

It was reference boss. You were the only one that read it as me "putting them in the same sentence."

But, I'll ask again since you struggle to read. How is Painter choking right now? Is it because he lost a game that meant nothing?
You made a terrible comparison of Matt Painter to Tom Izzo and Bob Knight regarding the topic of end of the year performance. Has Matt lost one game in two years before? Has he been to a Final Four? Has he won a national championship?

I've watched Painter not perform well at the end of the year for 17-18 years now: how much more proof do you need? At IU, that gets you fired. The definition of insanity applies.

Purdue had a pair of home games in Louisville a couple years ago?
They don't even show up for games in Indy in any numbers. Obviously, some show up, but the next time they have a big crowd outside of WL will be the first. Hell, in FB IU sent a hell of a lot more fans to face TN in JAX than you did in Nashville right down 65. For whatever reason, pu doesn't travel well...never has.

I never compared actually. I simply listed where they were at on the list as a reference. You are the only person here that has compared results of Painter to izzo and knight. But since you insist on saying I did compare, you can compare. And the results of my "comparison" back up exactly what you are saying. Painter isn't knight or izzo. But you know I never said that.

By not performing well, 2 losses in February is choking???

The Virginia coach literally called it a home game for Purdue in the elite 8? Was he lying?

Now Cav….set down the peace pipe and take a deep clean air breath. “MSU is really good”? Really? C’mon man!
About 3 weeks ago he basically said MSU was not a good team. Their front court was garbage and they had a decent backcourt while betting on us to cover … at MSU.

We didn’t cover.

The internet is forever and my memory haunts people. If one made a list of all his predictions he would basically be around 5% correct and he makes lots of predictions. His 2 locks did come through though. Love the dude. All heart and balls.

Ive been around these boards for over 20 years. Never read someone like Cav.

I know everyone hates Purdue and wants them to lose, but how does this loss help our tournament chances. We have a win over # 4 ranked Purdue. They lose to a team that has lost 5 out of 6 that We have lost to. We have a second game with MSU. But how does this help our Tournament resume' ]? It appears to diminish the quality of our Win over Purdue

Don’t over think it. A Purdue loss is still a point and laugh matter.

You are on an IU site on Saturday comparing Matt Painter to Bob Knight and Tom Izzo: what are you trying to prove?
I'm not comparing them. Never once compared them. I was answering a question about Matt Painter and used them as references in my question about Matt Painter that was on an iu site that I happen to visit to discuss big ten sports.

You are the only person that has accused me of comparing the 3 and painting it in a light that Painter is as good as the. I'm not trying to prove anything. Just asking you to defend a point you made, which you have failed to do. And truthfully, I think you can't so you keep altering the topic to get a rise out of me so you can flip this against me. Because of this, I'm signing off on this conversation with you.

Had PUR won, it also would've made our loss to MSU worse.

The things we needed to do to help our tournament resume for the most part we didn't do.

So, your point is Matt Painter is not as good of a coach as Bob Knight or Tom Izzo? Duh, move on.

BiG 10 commonly has a season where the top teams beat each other.
Why should this year be any different?

It’s the seasons where the BiG 10 places two in the final 4,
that show the true strength BiG 10 basketball.
Last time was 2015. I think the chances are better this year for two BiG 10 final 4 teams,
with the ACC reportedly having a down year. Second place ND is 20-8, and unranked.

I’d rather see the BiG 10 have the best NCAA record, than early exits as hated rivals.

This years tourney will be a battle between the SEC and Big 12. A close second will be the PAC 12 and then if lucky, the B1G will see the final weekend. But don’t bet on it.

Put down the pipe??? Who do you think you are talking to. MSU is a sweet 16 team. They have all the pieces of a great msu team. I swear it is just carbon copy over and over. AJ is a great PG, marble and bing are turning into the typical msu bigs. Then they have max that will be a pro on the wing.

If PU loses at home against IU and craps the bed in the NCAA's, wow. What do you do if you're Purdue at that point?
If you're a Purdue at that given point, you do the same as what an IU fan would do if PU beats us there, wins the BTT, and as if that's not insult enough...goes on to win the NCAA Championship. Soiling thy bedsheets in a fit of disbelief is but a mild bodily reacton the first night, in precursor for what's to come.

I bet on every game, thus I have to make a case of why we cover every game. MSU was playing like shit and I said they would inevitably get hot and be great going into March, hoping it wasn’t going to start the day we played them . I’m right more like 60-65%.

Oh and they are gonna get hot going into March. So chalk that up as where cavanagh was right!

MSU is still playing like shit. Purdue played terrible but when you get jobbed by terrible inept officiating it plays a role in the game. This conference has a BIG problem with these crews. It is being seen in most every game. It is creating ugly basketball (msu style ball). Not an excuse for losing but it is embarrassing on a national level.

Gene Keady created ugly BT basketball. Don't go crying about it now. You are right, it isn't an excuse. Sparty hit a big 3 in winning time. You take away ugly BT basketball, and PU doesn't have much.

Not really crying about anything just an opinion. If you dont think the officiating is a problem, then just disagree.

Really? Two uncalled travels and an uncalled offensive foul by Ivy (per ESPN Highlights show) alone in the last two minutes, not to mention Edey's fifth which could have been called a flagrant 1 (per Hummel)

Purdue has absolutely nothing to complain about from an officiating standpoint this season...NOTHING.

NOTH - ING

I didn’t see that you responded to the best point made yet on this thread…

Purdue is currently ranked 1 in KenPoms adjusted O, but over 100 in adjusted D.

History shows you basically can’t advance past the first couple rounds of the NCAA with that poor of a rating in one or the other. Especially when it’s the D.

Creans best IU team was even top 50 adjusted D. But we all knew someone would catch us because that wasn’t solid enough to carry us when our shots weren’t falling.

Sub 100? How’s that gonna workout?

We are gonna find out. I think Purdue has gotten a lot better defensively over the past month, but idk how good they are. And by responded, I'm not going back, but I'm pretty sure I brought up how they struggled defensively. I'll call a spade a spade.
