Tell me if I'm wrong or you saw something different. Watched the replay of the game and sticking to the offensive side of the ball, what I saw was completely unrecognizable from last year. Lots of off ball movement, off ball screens, not much standing around and the ball being moved around. I know the team we played didn't offer much as far as defensive resistance, but from a schematic view, I liked what was being run. Hope we stick to it.

I just commented on this in another thread...saw that as well and hoping that it continues...

Agree. Much better ball movement, and there seemed to be a purpose to the team. Last year we saw some spurts of similar, but consistency was the biggest issue. Often times, we were very stagnant and focused on 1on1. Let’s hope it keeps up and improves.

Mike Roberts?
Not necessarily. The decision to move to a motion offense was made by Archie shortly after last season ended (probably the decision was made even during last season). It was implemented at least in part during the summer.

Long story short, Archie wasn't happy with the structure of our offense the past two years, but it was necessary to some extent because of our lack of offensive threats beyond Morgan and Langford.

Not sure if Archie "made" the decision to move to a motion offense after the end of last season or during last season. I understand that at Dayton his go to offense was the motion in half court if the transition didn't happen. I think that he has always wanted motion at IU but inexperience at guard and lack of team attitude or ball stoppages and dribbling threw a wrench into his concepts.

Here is one example: https://www.mensbasketballhoopscoop.com/archie-miller-dayton-flyers-offense/

And here Archie talks about motion before his first season at IU: https://www.insidethehall.com/2017/...-daytons-offense-defense-under-archie-miller/

Sure seems to me he would implement a motion oriented half court when he could. That decision was made, probably before Dayton.
