Are we relevant in anything?

This might be the most ignorant post ever. In my house, for my family, Indiana University is very much relevant. Living in Louisville, for my teenage kids, Indiana is their first choice for college. For my family, our Gator bowl trip was amazing even though we lost due to a poorly coached onside kick. For my son, wearing his IU Yogi Ferrell jersey and his Oladipo Pacers jersey, IU is still relevant. My kids wearing their candy striped warmup pants during their middle school basketball careers is very much relevant. Winning doesn't and has never made IU relevant. Indiana is relevant because of Hoosier nation and for all the accomplishments of the alumni and the future alumni. My guess is you are neither. If your IU pride is derived from whether we win or lose, then bless your heart.

Enough of the homer rant, WBB is ranked, Soccer is always ranked, FB went bowling for the 12th time ever, Baseball has constantly made the tourney.

This might need to be your last post or you might need to post sober going forward.

WOW! Mediocre mentality = Mediocre results. Fred, is that you?

In this world of 30 second news.
Nobody's relevant..
I've not even heard anything much about Duke this season.
And their all the media's darling team.

It appears that IU is going in a more feminine direction... like everything else in this country. I suspect there may be an agenda behind it all, but that's probably just the "crazy conspiracy theorist" in me talking.

Not "crazy conspiracy theorist" in you, but maybe it's the sexist pig in you.

Edited to take make it more accurate.

sexist pig. LOL. you are fragile aren't you. Did you really want Dan as the head coach? What is ol bear reffering to? He has a valid point if that is true, you should never be able to talk about IU basketball again.

Me fragile? You don't know who you're talking to, but fragile is not a word that's been used to describe me.

Sure, after Simpson's firing and Dakich was interim coach I would have been OK with Dakich being retained. I was never a Sampson fan and Dakich would have been the opposite in one way that matters to me - playing by rules. I think he would have cleaned house and rebuilt IU pretty well. Might have done it faster than Crean and maybe have maintained it. He also might even have crashed and burned. It's impossible to know what would have happened as far as success. I know we probably would have played motion offense and man to man defense similar to Knight's offense and defense, and we know IU did pretty well with that system. However, I didn't say Dakich was my top choice, but he was on the list of those I'd be OK with.

Also you have no say on who is able to talk basketball now or ever.

You are a piece of sh*t! You should be banned from this forum. You are a disgrace to the Military that you hold as your badge of honor.
Actually Bailey, I owe you an apology. I went back to your original post that debtslave quoted and it's clear that he altered it within the quote. Your post wasn't sexist at all. In fact it was a good post. Sorry about that.

Hey, if you really want to scare him, send him some pictures of yourself. I'm sure that will intimidate the hell out of him.

Soccer yeah. Check out the recruiting class Todd Yeagley just announced yesterday. National title this fall is a real possibility.

Yeagley Jr. couldn’t carry his old man’s jock. Not the same soccer program anymore. Soccer has only won 2 conference championships in the last 12 years and has been overtaken by Maryland.

I think that most fans and alums appreciate that soccer is good at IU but the bottom line is that it doesn’t pay the bills.

Schools are not household names because of peripheral sports. It’s football then basketball, in that order.

Nobody could carry Jerry Yeagley’s jock-even his son. He was the GOAT in his sport. And they’ve won more than 2 conference championships in the last 12 years. They’ve won both the regular season and big ten tourney 2 years straight. I agree Football and men’s basketball pay the bills at all schools, but soccer is very relevant, which was the OP question.
