This is unfortunate. I was hoping he would take a job far away from IU's backyard.
He's gonna recruit Indiana hard and he's one of the top 3 recruiters in the nation. Hopefully he hurts Holtmann just as much though.
Screw him. He wont be stacking teams like he did at AZ. He never did anything with them anyway.
Must have been legal back then too. Kansas and Arizona both being one seeds and yet to get a scratch from the NCAA.
This is really naive. Sean Miller has accomplished more than every coach we’ve had combined for almost 30 years. It will absolutely hurt our recruiting.
Most programs don't care about baggage. That much is clear
Xavier gets scraps. By the time he gets a foundation IU will be rolling. Shouldn't scare anyone.
This won’t age well. Xavier has absolutely dominated us for 20 years. There’s a wider gap between them and us than there is us to Ball State.
We was averaging about 30 wins/yr for a 5 year stretch, as I recall.
Playing in a crappy Pac 10 and folding in March. He's a less-with-more-guy for sure. I'd worry more about Payne in a couple years.

Unless Miller works behind the scenes with Corporations.... to NIL players that he wants to recruit for Xav.

That's absurd. The job is to win games. Tourney is a crap shoot. Think he won Conf COY 3-4 times.
In my mind it would be very hard to prove if a coach did what you are saying. The Corporations want the kids representing them. They want a big time school where the kid will get a lot of publicity. The NIL is really getting rid of amateur sports. Filthy lucre will ruin a genuine product and it will be about commercials and money.
He ran the Pac 12 for years with top 10 recruiting classes. That was good for a couple Sweet 16s. He's not a bad coach, but he's at Xavier. Like another poster said, if we're scared of Xavier, wtf we even doin?
We haven't had a run of consistent relevance in college BB like AZ under Miller since '93 prior. We'd all bow down for that kind of success.
He didn't have great touney success.
He's a better x/o guy than we've had since RMK for sure. He has a nice resume, but IU has never had the caliber of recruits he got at AZ either. He was fired from there tho. Let's see what he can do with Jerome Hunter.
No elite 8's three of them. Wisconsin took him out one year by a few points.

You're right. I skimmed his wiki but got it wrong. He did win 3 sweet 16 games= elite 8. I'm still not blown away... Y'all can bookmark and If Xavier overwhelms the IU program in a few years, run me out on a rail if that's your thing. Right now my reaction to Miller at Xavier is "so what'.

He won't be recruiting kids that can be admitted to IU. Whole different sort of standards at X.
Recruiting is probably the most important part of the job. This isn't an NFL coach that isn't responsible for their players.
If he pulls recruits IU wants to Xavier, then IU should shut it down. I don't remember ever losing anyone to them before. He might well put together a good team. I just don't see it as a threat to IU
