If you find something that works for you, go with it, and don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong. One of those things where it's the destination that matters, not the journey.maybe individualized treatment for addiction is it.
Finding a good group for anything is difficult, but really important. I wonder if there are virtual ones that you could explore? I don't think virtual discussion as rewarding as in person, especially for something like AA, but some people might not care.@BradStevens
The AA groups around me tend to have a negative, woe is me vibe. But im from small town Indiana. Some groups can be great. The only good one I cant get to but maybe once a month.
So i listen to those videos I posted every day. Sometimes more. I figure I spend 30 minutes of wasted time procuring alcohol
Ill be walking to get some, put on that standard directive from Jocko, turn right around and do something productive.
It works for me. Im still trying to find my purpose in life, maybe individualized treatment for addiction is it. I've been to rehab twice, my wife three times. Through it all we've stayed together, learned a lot about each other.
My education and experience maybe leads well in to a new way to help the outliers that dont respond to tradional treatment programs.
