Having a chunk of one of those masts drop on you is Not a good thing at all...

Edit: per the latest updated article they Lost Power to manuver and evidently drifted where they had no intention of going... 😖

I'm surprised they hadn't already coordinated with the Coast Guard in regard to that bridge deck clearance...

I wonder if we had done some renovation work on the bridge that changed that deck to water height or perhaps the ballast # (and the draft) of the Mexican Tall Ship changed in relation to the info given to the CG... ?

I bet AOC is really pissed. She just bought that bridge last week.

Why are people trying to float under the Brooklyn bridge with massive masts?

Especially non-Americans.

I’ll say a prayer for the departed but let’s call this what it is. The consequence of stupid progressives putting their words into action.

They lost power going to Iceland. They weren't trying to go under the bridge.

Sinko de Mayo?

Hey man - death is a serious matter. Unless you're talking Trump's assassination. Then it's no biggie.
I'm no stranger to death.

I was 21 when my dad died. He had a heart attack, I gave him cpr, he died in my hands.

When you die the pain and suffering of life is over. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Yeah, never have made a joke about the attempt to kill President Trump. People who did should look in the mirror and get some perspective. Somebody died that day, too, and it was a tragedy.
Yeah, much more righteous to make fun of the living people who read your words than the dead who can no longer be hurt by them.🙄
It's more out of respect for the people involved in the accident and their loved ones. You seem awfully upset that someone finds it distasteful to make jokes about an accident that happened just yesterday where people died. I guess our mileage varies.

Really sorry that you had to deal with that, especially at such a young age. It's never easy, but that had to be a really tough age to face it. I hope you get some joy along the way in the time you have left.

It was tough. I didn't realize the effects until getting older. I blocked it out for a long time.

I'm happy, great wife, been together almost 20 years this year. Good friends, spending time with them again.

I didn't mean to be an ass. Life is interesting and constantly evolving. We all have our own individual experience.

Glad to hear all the good things that have come since. IMHO, they are the kinds of things that makes it well worth enduring every moment of the suffering. Hope your Sunday brings a few new great memories.

Ill admit my outlook on life is a bit jaded. In 05-06 I lost my dad, grandpa and grandma.

My grandma was bedridden for 9 years because of a stoke. She ate right, exercised, done everything right.

My family doesn't live long.

Death doesn't affect the dead. It affects the living.
That's my mindset. I don't fear death. Honestly, sometimes I want it. As a Christian I cant suicide, but I've lived recklessly and still survive.

We don't know what's on the other side. But death is final. No more pain, no more suffering. I will live my best life, prepare for those left behind, and require they party.

I struggle with being a baptist and my nihilism.

When you're trained to kill people it gets easy
Fing hell. Finally an interesting post. i was wondering if we'd ever get one. Okay without going into details that might compromise you can you please elaborate on this training. and if you can provide some background on your kills (numbers, circumstances) that'd be great too to the extent you're comfortable

Lost power? Sailing ship?

Admirals Nelson, Jones, Aloha etc. wonder about this.

My church had a great service this morning honoring our military lost.

I was privileged to present the facts about the Missing Man Table

My Cav Troop lost 12 guys in the year I was in VN

I still see their faces.

Death is for those who have not accepted God.

Remember, " No Matter how far you have wandered from God, the return is but a single step.

Maybe at first blush but sweet silence shared that he’s a trained killer. That’s something to perk things up. I want to hear more
1) Do we know its a he? Much more interesting if not.

2)Maybe he/she/they is making it all up? Still interesting if so.

Trained killer or no, its poor taste and unnecessary to so openly "walk on the grave"... And from what I know of most actual trained killers (law enforcement and military), they'd probably be the LAST people to do it.
